“Luxury hotel in great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

This hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance of the main shopping area and the tourist sites like the palace and the cathedral. Lovely staff, very friendly and attentive, from the moment we checked in. We were offered a nice glass of cava on arrival, which was a nice touch.
Our bedroom wasn’t huge but was perfectly fine and the beds were very comfortable. Lovely bathrooms with double wash-hand basin, nice toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. Very good breakfast (included in our rate, so can’t comment on the value of breakfast on its own); truly great selection of all hot and cold foods, fruit, breads, pastries etc.
Probably wouldn't rate this the best 5* I have ever stayed in (more like 4½!).

Room Tip: Don't forget to check out the great view or relax on the loungers in the evening sunshine on the...

Stayed 3 nights in April 2012 with wife and 3 yo daughter in a premium room.

Staff: top notch, friendly and efficient

Breakfast: very good (while expensive)

Facilities: solarium is pleasant while small with a (cold water) Jacuzzi. OK fitness room. Too bad there is no swimming pool.

Rooms: pleasant while not exceptional. We were upgraded to a viewless premium room on the 5th floor. Very quiet, OK size (maybe 20-25sqm) but no view at all. Bed is OK but not premium comfort. Room is clean but not in the details. Too bad for this, as more attention to fixtures and other hard-to-reach corners would make this hotel perfect.

Location: close enough from super-touristic area for a nice walk, far enough for quiet and more local authenticity

Overall: Melia is well priced as a 4 star with 4 star service. It could reach Luxury status if rooms were better kept (achievable) and if it had a swimming pool (less achievable I assume!)

A lovely hotel booked by my partner for a last minute deal over the Easter Break. The staff are very attentive, managing to stay just about the right side of the line where this might start to become fawning and annoying. However, they seem to have been trained to always touch their heart when they speak to you making it feel like a) they're about to have a seizure or b) you're in some kind of sci-fi film. When the cleaner has to stop vacuuming the hall carpet as you pass to do this for you, it begins to verge on the absurd. In hot weather, the hotel only really lacked a rooftop swimming pool to make the facilities perfect. The food was great and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. All round, you're very unlikely to get a much better place to stay in the city. Even the bullfighters seem to stay here. Go to the hotel website for the best deals.

Room Tip: Possibly ask for a room at the front or back of the hotel; the rooms facing the side streets don'...

What a delightful stay in this hotel in Seville. I was there for three nights recently and found it to be stylish but also very homey and all my needs were met so easily and in such a friendly manner. The breakfast was exceptional as were all the staff. I would recommend very highly.

Stayed 3 nights here. Upgraded to the Red Level before arriving. Not sure we got our moneys worth, but since we had booked the hotel on travel awards, it was worth it. Enjoyed wine, cocktails and tapas in the Red lounge (we were the only ones there which was great). Did not take advantage of eating breakfast in the red level area since our traveling companions had not upgraded. The breakfast was worth getting included. Lots of choices and stayed open until 11:00 which was great for jet-lagged folks. (even had the champagne for mimosas!) Our daughter showed up to stay with us and they quickly provided a bed (at no charge) in our room. All the personnel were courteous, friendly, helpful, responsive, genuinely interested in making your stay memorable. The comments about all the "lighting controls, curtains, etc." are valid, but it's not too hard to figure out. The beds (and pillows) were comfortable and the A/C worked well even though it was cool outside. Good location too. Seville is a walking city and the hotel was very convenient to everything we wanted to visit. Would highly recommend and definitely go back.
