More a b and b than a hotel but lovely room, friendly service and a very good breakfast. Good position in the Albaycin, 10 minute walk down hill to the main town and a bus to come back up. Our room faced the courtyard so was quiet but had no view. Wandering round the old quarter was delightful and the views from the nearby Plaza St Nicholas were stunning. Good Moroccan restaurant close by.

A small, family run, hotel which is a really charming place to stay. Set in the heart of the Albaicin district the hotel is brilliantly situated with bars and restaurants within walking distance and Plaza St Nicolas, offering magnificent views of the Alhambra, just up the road. The centre of Granada (Plaza Nueva) is easily reached by the regular mini-bus service that stops just round the corner from the hotel. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated and furnished. The room was a very good size as was the bathroom. Rooms are set around a small enclosed courtyard which is open to the sky when the weather is warm. Breakfast was excellent; buffet style with plenty of choice. On top of all this the staff are friendly, helpful and extremely pleasant with nothing too much trouble. Why stay anywhere else?!

My wife and I just returned from Granada, Spain where we spent three days in Albaycin, the oldest neighborhood in town , located on a hill where narrow winding cobblestone streets direct fortunate tourists and locals alike around corners where they discover enchanting plazas hosting lone outdoor cafes alongside fountains bubbling in the shadows of churches.

This hotel was a good choice for 4 reasons.

First, the location is excellent. It is a 15 minute walk down to the Morrocan market area where you can haggle over curl toed slippers, hooka pipes, and Ottoman clothing or just enjoy the restaurants and bars. The Morrocan section also borders the town's main drag consisting of modern stores and banks housed in 19th century edifices. The Hotel is also 100 feet from two restuarants with out door seating, and a mere 5 munute taxi drive to the town's best Flamenco shows.

Second, the managers are two charming women, Lola and Alena who are apparently twins. They will advise you regarding Flamenco shows, restaurants and transportation. They have one laptop for guests to use in the library on the first floor.

Third, the room comes with free breakfast from 7 to 10: 30 consisting of ham, proscuitto, cheese, croussants, hard boiled eggs, bread, orange juice and coffee. Room service is limited to alcholic beverages, ham and cheese sandwhich, olives and nuts.

Fourth, the hotel interior is small, charming and quaint. The rooms, with wooden beam ceilings, decorative rugs and curtains, wooden shutters, etc. genuinely transports you to the 19th century. Especially wonderful is the basic layout of the house: The roof rolls back to allow sunshine to enter the courtyard in the center. Above the courtyard are three floors with 4 rooms each. Be sure to reserve a room with a window for 145 Euros per night. The standard room, unfortunately, has no window.

ONE CRITICAL WARNING ABOUT THE ALBAYCIN AREA: YOU CANNOT DRIVE IN IT WITHOUT HAVINGAN ACCIDENT OR GOING INSANE. The roads are extremely narrow, laid out in a very confusing arrangement and are always one way. Sometimes somewone parks in the street and you cannot get through. Therefore, we took a train from Madrid to Granada.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window (not a standard room)

This was a very quaint hotel very well located for all our sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Rooms and breakfast were good. The views of the Alhambra from Plaza Saint Nicolas (which was close to hotel) were fantastic. We walked everywhere and never used a bus as the weather was great.
