Just returned from Granada and stayed for two nights at the Abadia Hotel. When first arriving the hotel is on a side street and we were not sure we made the right decision. However, our two rooms were very clean, convenient and centered around a lovely courtyard. Within one block of restaurants, coffee, shopping and very short walk to the main part of town. Parking in secured garage was very convenient and the staff was exceptional. For the price it is a real bargain and upon our return to Granada we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Abadia over Easter weekend, upon entering we found no one at the reception desk which was unusual. After standing there staring at the tiny reception area, we were finally greeted by the Dutch receptionist (short with long blond hair) and things just went down hill with a combination of misunderstanding in which room was confirmed along with her feistiness and clearly didn't want to make an angry customer happy. We were assigned to a room facing the front small alley and boy was it noisy plus the noises made from the room above (moving furniture around).
The room was not clean and the daily cleaning and tidiness was done in the name of room service maintenance; hair was found upon entering the room and there they stayed until we checked out and not to mention the way the maid tidied up the room.
We found the French receptionist who was doing her practice at the hotel was very nice and she apologized for having confirmed the wrong room. Unlike the Dutch receptionist who claimed it was not the hotel's fault but the new receptionist's and done nothing about it; clearly they didn't work as a team or as the hotel's customer service as a whole.

We might be coming back to visit Granada but we will definitely reserve somewhere that cares about customer satisfactions.

I normally save my reviews until I check out but this time I am writing it when I am still here.

This is not a good sign. We booked a hotel with the luxury shower and my friend confirmed this on the phone yesterday

When we checked in " no you only booked a double room"

We said " but we confirmed it yesterday"

Receptionist "oh between 2 and 8 yesterday we had a new girl and she knows nothing"

Us " can we speak to that receptionist " answer " no"

"Can we speak to the manager". " no"

So I feel completely ripped off, and all I can say is get everything in writing or stay somewhere that cares about customer service because this place does not

I spent 4 nights here in March and was really impressed. Although I'd booked a single room, I was given a twin which was spacious, comfortable and very clean. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a kettle and cups in the room, very unusual in a Spanish hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, everywhere was spotlessly clean. You can't ask for more.

The hotel was hard to find, perhaps even more so as I arrived at night, but does have a really good central location. My only criticisms of the hotel are the lack of breakfast (there are lots of coffee shops within a couple of minutes walk though) and the price of the parking (14euros per day). I know the parking is about the same price as other Granada hotels but it does make for an expensive trip.
