We used the hop on hop bus around Grenada and got off at stop #5 and then it was a short walk. A great place to see the Alhambra and are some great pics. Amazing at night as well. Definitely worth the trip.

It’s a steep climb to the top, so for those that tire more easy go gently or take the Bus C1 to the top from the bus stop near the monastery. Wear good walking shoes as the steps are not flat but have pebbles inset. There are a lot of shops along the way up and down selling arts and crafts and numbers gift shops.

The plaza at the top has great views of the city and Alhambra. If you didn’t manage to get tickets inside Alhambra, why not make the most of this free area and enjoy the beautiful architecture of Islamic culture intertwined with Catholic, Moorish and Spanish overtones. There were a number of arts and crafts for sale by local artisans around the plaza but this may just be at the weekend.

There is a place below that sells very good gelato. There is flamenco at a restaurant called Jardine de Zoraya just a few minutes away.

For cracking views of The Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada you cannot beet the Mirador de San Nicolas. If you are lucky enough to secure a comfortable seat on a nice day it’s a great place for a coffee or light meal.

Throughout the Albaycin on the way to this look out are many good view points. If too crowded you can also go into the neighboring mosque or to the restaurants one street below.
The snow covered mountains behind the Alhambra surprised me and impressed me.

The Albaycin district is my favourite part of Granada. The tiny, winding streets, the cobbles, the chaotic routes, but most of all, the unexpected pockets of beauty - the photo opportunities.
This Plaza and viewpoint is the best in the city.

STUNNING!!!!!

The photo attached shows the view of the mirador - as seen from within the Alhambra. You get a feel for the layout!

Don't miss this if you're in Granada!

One final note, we found that the adjacent bar (Kiki) was overpriced, and the waiters were bordering on being rude / offensive! - this was the only bar we had this experience, in a 5 day stay. All others were very welcoming.
We would not use that one again - there are plenty of others in the local area. Take a wander, sometimes the smallest ones offered the best atmosphere, and the best tapas (free with drinks, of course!).
