My daughter and myself flew out from Manchester to Malaga. Hired a car and drove to Granada once we hit the motorway it was a straight drive into Granada. As we passed Sierra Nevada the sun was shining on the snow covered mountains. The Melia is situated in a good position for shopping and sightseeing. It was my second visit in the last few months. The first time we were in room 600 which had a view of the Alambra Palace nice size bedroom and bathroom. Last week we were in 602 which my daughter had last time nice size room and balcony but very small bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities and a bottle of sherry waiting for us. Bedrooms airy and clean. Breakfast good with plenty of choice. No car park on premises. Car Park nearby but cost 40 euros for 2 days with no discount from hotel. Pity no swimming pool or beauty salon but plenty nearby. Left Friday and drove up to Sierra Nevada which was sunny and cold. Beautiful views on the way up. We then made our way up to Alicante.

Room Tip: 600 but 602 has balcony but smaller bathroom

My room on the 6th floor was truly impressive and so comfortable that i did not want to leave when my time came 2 days ago.
I have again been treated as an important individual and my overall experience i dont think could be bettered, any requests i made was acted upon very quickly.
I am coming to this hotel again in march because i really enjoy staying with and being looked after by the happy staff ,and i know my stay will be of the very best quality.

Just returned from a week long holiday staying at the Melia Granada. This hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Granada five minute walk from the Cathedral and surrounded by countless tapas bars and restaurants. Bus stops for the Alhambra, Albyzyn, and Sacromonte are also close with a regular service. We paid a little extra for a room on the top floor with a view of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada. All the staff are very nice. A special thank you to Escobar and Enrique for making our stay more memorable. We hope to see you again next year in your fabulous city. Gracias por todo. Robert & Jeannie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Room Tip: Superior room top floor with a view of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada.

We found the staff here excellent they could not be more helpful, I would have given an excellent but no tea and coffee in the room is a let down, the breakfast was great, location excellent, but the parking if your driving is a bit pricey at the place next door at €20 per day, otherwise a top place.

There are many good points about the Melia Granada.

Excellent location for bars, restaurants and shopping. Calle Navas behind the hotel has a large number of bars and restaurants. The main tourist area is only a few minutes walk away.

The buffet breakfast is excellent. Huge choice of items.

The lounge/bar is very welcoming and the prices are unbelievable for a hotel. Little wonder it is so busy at 3 Euros for a large Cava or a beer. Just wish more hotels realised that more competitive prices will increase occupancy and atmosphere.

It is only 5 minute flat walk to the bus stop for Airport. We used this on the way back and at 2.90 Euros was a good choice. The taxi on arrival was 27 Euros.

The refurbished room was clean and comfortable without being worthy of better comment.

Not happy that the Aircon was centrally controlled and hotel advised that as it was now winter the temperature is set higher.
The temperature outside the hotel was 28F the day before we arrived and 22F during our stay. Our room was too hot and with the window open very noisy. Will check for individual Aircon in future.

If you want to walk to the Alhambra allow at least half an hour as the last half mile is fairly steep and not suitable for anyone who is unfit. The local land train and bus service is good value and operates regularly.

Most of the best areas to visit (outside of shopping) will involve walking up hills to get the most of the experience. Excellent if you are reasonably fit and like walking.

Overall a very enjoyable 3 night stay at a very nice hotel.
