The Alhambra Palace Hotel is a bit of a legend in these parts. The architecture is stunning and you are 5 minutes walk from the Palace itself. The views over the city from the terrace are wonderful. Excellent service throughout. It is a hotel of yesteryear but I mean this kindly. It is a wonderful space to be in. Easy walk down into the City but you may want a taxi back as it is uphill - taxis readily available and reasonably priced. Rooms are very comfortable and crisp white bedlinen is lovely to slide into after a long hot summer day in the City !

With a little bit of attention, this could be a proper 5 star hotel
Excellent location, 5 minutes from entrance to Alhambra
Pleasant 10 minute walk downhill to centre of town
Take the Alhambra bus up to the hotel
Costs euro 1.80 perfect
We had 2 suites with city views
Amazing views of city
Imagine this was your city
Uninterrupted views

Instead of king bed, had 2 single beds pushed together

Service was ok
Old hotel charm but lacked that personal touch or edge
Something small just missing to make service great
Restaurant staff getting on from an age perspective and the service here could be better
Breakfast fair was a good spread but mundane

The historic charm and detailing is brilliant

However Hotel starting to age in the rooms
Furniture Needs modernisation

Bathrooms small
Shower in bath
Pressure good

No pool

Could be that one special hotel in granada
A lot going for it

Room tip: Choose city views without a doubt

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU'RE EXPECTING A 5-STAR HOTEL.
The bed (2 twins pushed together to try to make up a king) was EXTREMELY uncomfortable - just imagine the beds provided in a college dorm - hard and springy. The linens also were thin, cheap, and stiff - the funniest thing was that the hotel got their cheap stiff linens embroidered with their logo. The room was ugly with orange paint, but the bathroom was cute with tile mosaic.

Our nespresso machine didn't work and just put out water on 3 tries with 3 pods - I alerted staff after the first night and nothing was done. The only thing you're paying for at this hotel is the view and the terrace. The floor in the room was laminate, paint was scraping off and space was tight. There are no other amenities. There isn't turn-down service. Our room wasn't even cleaned the first day, but the 2nd day they came twice before 9am (after being told to come back after 10 the first time). The toiletries were some generic brand from a cheap hotel.

... It's basically a Best Western with a restaurant downstairs. I just had to warn someone after our horrible experience. This is in absolutely no way whatsoever a 5 or even a 4-star hotel. You will also be a 17-minute trek to the city and have to hike up a hill on the way back - I don't mind this, but others might. If you're still committed to the area, I recommend another hotel in the same area (there are at least 2 other nice ones).

I wish I knew all of this before I stayed, but I wanted the view! Turns out the view is the ONLY thing they have. This stay alone has made me question what star ratings even mean in the hotel industry.

Room tip: Do not stay here if you're expecting a real 5-star hotel

Thank you for taking the time to rate our hotel and help us improve our service. However, we greatly regret your negative comments, fortunately very different from those we usually receive. With regard to your comments, we would like to make the following remarks:
- Our twin beds are two 1.05m mattresses of the latest generation, interlocking springs and latex top layer.
- Our sheets are made of Egyptian cotton.
- Orange paint is in the rooms and throughout the building. This color is inspired by the original color of the Alhambra.
- Our floors are parquet, carpet or marble depending on the room.
- Our toiletries are from a prestigious French cosmetics brand.
- The city center is 800 meters away, about 10 minutes walking, if you take the right route.
- We have a daily cleaning service.
We regret that your coffee maker did not work, and the failure of the cleaning service on the first day. We hope it was satisfactory for the rest of your stay.
We look forward to seeing you again and thank you personally for your comment. Best regards

The 3 of us stayed for 1 night in 2 rooms. The rooms were very nice, but quite small. I am not sure how some larger people get in and out of the shower safely. I was hard pressed not to rate a 4 instead of a 5, but everything else was too good. We were unlucky enough to have no view as well. Or rather just a view of a side street. The staff were fantastic and we could not ask for more in that area. They were quick to help and to go above and beyond with any request we had. The view from the restaurant was amazing! Breakfast was also included and top notch. If we were staying ore than one night we would have asked for better rooms facing the city.

Room tip: Get one facing the city for the view. Side rooms and front rooms do not have a view.

Located a few minutes walk from the Alhambra, this property provides first class facilities and service. The reception staff, housekeeping and the restaurant and bar staff provided attentive service. Our room was spacious, clean, well appointed and offered a terrific view of the city and the Sierra Nevada mountains. It was one of the better places we stayed in our two week tour of southern Spain.
