Just back from a week away 9th May, we arrived later than supper time and were offered a cold plate to keep us going. Check in(with a glass of champagne) was very smooth. 10 euro deposit for the safe refunded when we checked out. We had a really good time watching the antics of hen and stag parties who were well behaved considering the all inclusive status of the hotel. Drinks were good and not limited to 2 per person, at the pool bar beer, wine, juice and tea or coffee were self service :), spirits and cocktails were served at the bar :). Our room 348 had a separate bedroom (I found the beds were a bit "firm") and overlooked the pool. It was cleaned daily with fresh towels, sun lounger towels were gotten from the reception after 6 pm and replaced as necessary. There was a bowling green between the Costa Lago and Belplaya, and I think they had bowls to borrow, not that we did. We had such a good time, we'd return next year.

Room Tip: we were in 348 overlooking the pool and away from the lifts, it had a separate bedroom, sun in the morning but not in the afternoon.

The hotel is well maintained, good size rooms, staff all very friendly and helpful, shame about the lack of facilities you would expect in a 4 star,
Only one place to eat for all meals, a free for all breakfast and lunch, 2 sittings in the evening, tables only layed with knife fork and serviette, good food but very repetitive, all self service. There is a pool bar for drinks but closes in the evening, only one bar and entertainment is poor, no waiter service anything you want you have to get yourself, they do clear the tables of glasses. Well situated only short walk to beach, and short bus ride to town, even walkable.

Room Tip: Best for older generation

Came here for a week as a couple and by and large enjoyed our stay a lot. We had an early flight but only had to wait an hour for our room. It was spotlessly clean, but clearly well past its best. The yellow colour scheme was too dark as was the dark heavy furniture. However the bathroom suite was quite new although the bathroom was a very difficult shape, narrow and awkward.
The hotel was cleaned every day and the pool area was fully washed each morning. The food was generally to a high standard well cooked, hot if a little biased towards our continental cousins. One disappointment was the afternoon snacks. A bit of cheese some ham and cake was well short of what other Riu hotels offer.
The all inclusive worked well for the most part with beer and soft drinks available in several locations. However in the nights the main bar was in a corner of the entertainment room. This may have been OK years ago before all inclusive was the norm and most guests went out in the nights. But now most stay in at night and frankly there was loads of waiting for drinks. This is certainly not ideal with a load of Germans in the hotel when none of them bother with a queue and just push in.
Overall I feel the hotel is very nearly at the end of its days. It needs a lot of work to bring it up to date beginning with the rooms. Still it was busy and still making money so as long as they can squeeze out a it more profit I guess nothing much will change.

It was that good we have booked for next year. Great hotel, staff, pool, and restaurant. The rooms are a good size, clean and well serviced. The restaurant offers a good choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is an all inclusive hotel and drinks are available from 10am till midnight. The hotel has a great pool and lots of sunbed. Some entertainment is on every night.

Room Tip: all the rooms are the same
