We have stayed in this hotel 3 times now and we,re returning again on 25th August 2012. This hotel has everything we ever want or need, its beautifully decorated, very modern, there,s plenty room, all have sea view, rooms are serviced daily, they even supply, shampoo, conditioner, body milk and shower gel which when used is replenished daily. there,s also a hair drier. There,s also a mini bar in every room which maybe a wee bit more expensive but good to have if you need a drink in a hurry, there,s also room in the fridge if you want to chill your own drinks etc. We take a travel kettle with us if you prefer to have a cuppa while sitting on the balcony. each room has flat screen tv with a few British chanels. Rooms also have a safety deposit box which you dont have to pay extra for. The hotel is directly across from the beach and within walking distance to shops, bars, restraunts. There,s taxi,s sitting outside at all times should you require one, the hotel staff will even phone one for you. The staff are very polite, helpfull and friendly, we have become good friends with a few of the waiters. We always go half board which is probably alot cheaper than going bed and breakfast and buying an evening meal. Ok it can be a wee bit more expensive if your not half board but as the hotel is very up market you get what you pay for, excellent service. The food is plentifull and dishes are varied with something for everyone so i dont think anyone coul complain about the food. The only change that we dont like is the dining room has been modernised from having white table covers to being very retro and modern, perhaps not to everyones tastebut that doesnt put us off from returning to this FABULOUS hotel.

Room Tip: The rooms are split into 2 wings, the east and the west wings, we would advise that you request a ro...

Was on the eighth floor in a junior suite...fabulous. In the morning the sun is directly onto the balcony which was 25 mtrs long with sunbeds (mattresses included) In the evening it is the moon which shines towards you giving lovely reflections on the sea. Room was great. Large flat screen television in the lounge area and smaller one fitted to the wall in the bedroom. Rooms and balcony very clean and tidy every day. Bathroom with superb toileteries brilliant. Didnt use the restaurant so cant really comment. only small problem is that there is a def shortage of sunbeds for the number of people in the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating. The hotel is directly across the narrow road from the beach so there is always a lovely breeze. Although you are directly on the beach road there was very little noise (I believe there is a speed restriction on the road....and lots of speed bumps !!) There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the immediate area but it is not a "clubby" or party area, lots of couples and families. I would (will) definately return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room with sea view...suite if possible

This hotel is well positioned for the beach but that's about all it has going for it. We only ate in the restaurant one night and was overpriced for the variety and quality of food on offer. Our stay was for four days and we won't be returning. The room was poorly serviced and we had to re-wash glasses before using because they hadn't been cleaned properly. Noe doubt there are better/cleaner hotels than this.

Great hotel, employees very friendly and attentive, rooms cleaned everyday pool area not that big but plenty of beds and pool was never full. Beach on the doorstep and the beach activities plentiful and cheap.

We had a junior suite overlooking the beach which is directly across the road. We were on the 9th floor and to hear the waves crashing on the shore was memorable. Opening the curtains and patio door in the morning and listening to the sounds of the sea as one had a bit of a lie-in is the abiding memory of our stay at the Melia." To hear sea water lapping with low sounds by the shore" with apologies to W B Yeats. Yes a lovely few days.
The Melia is a top class hotel with high standards prevailing throughout. The room was brilliant, sitting room with big flat screen TV,patio door to a massive balcony with our own sun beds. Bedroom nicely decorated with another patio door to the balcony, well furnished bathroom and shower. Mini bar was handy for keeping our own drinks. Room cleaned every day with change of towels etc excellent service.
The staff from reception to maids to restaurant were very helpfull and most friendly, always a smile. Top award goes to the lady in charge of the main bar (cant think of her name) but she was very friendly and always smiling and joking.
No complaint about the food with a vast choice at both breakfast and dinner. 7lbs heavier after a 9 day stay should be proof enough.
Small complaint though...only one sitting for dinner from 7.30 to 10.30 and this can be very crowded and worse still it gets very NOISY. After a few days all the noise can be a bit of a pain. Plates and cutlery all banging together was an incentive to get in early and out as quickly as was possible.
Pool is tiny...counted 75 people at the pool one day and it was crowded at that. Did not join the charge of the towel brigade at 9am every morning. Beach across tthe road 9 euro's for 2 sunbeds and brolly..very nice.
Yes a smashing few days at the Melia..."I could arise and go now"
If only.
