“The place to meet”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

We had a couple of meals at cafes on the Plaza and watched the start of the Carnival celebrations there. There isn't much to say about the Plaza itself except that it looked very pretty at night with all the Carnival illuminations.

“Malaga Central!”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

This is basically a great big square - not as vast as others in Spain, but this is really the centre of the old Malaga this side of the river. It's at the top of the main shopping street, so easy for the stores, there are several cafes surrounding it, and it is home to many festival parades and all that. It also leads directly up to the tinier streets towards Plaza de la Merced. In the flooring of the street itself you can find bronze (?) plaques of memories of the years gone by, which is why it's called Constitution Place. If you go to Malaga and don't just take the tour bus, which won't be able to get you anywhere near, because it's pedestrianised, you can't fail to come across it. It changes with the seasons and with what's going on. On this last trip it was filled with a soundstage for the carnival; other times it's been open, or had stalls and markets. It's a great place to base your knowledge of 'where you are' on - though you might still get lost!

“A lively square”
Reviewed 1 February 2012

It is always something happening on the square and it is very clean and pedestrian to 100%. It has also the best coffee house in he city, wit tables on the very square. A classic meeting point.
