“Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 10 April 2012

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Salles Hotel and could not have chosen better - taking everything it offers into account. Good location - just out the door of the hotel, turn to your left and over the bridge and you are into the old town. As previous reviews have said it is not the most picturesque walk - but is is a very short walk only 5 mintues - and we never felt ill at ease.

We got a taxi from the airport - but got the train back - €2.80 for the two of us compared to €25 in a taxi. Arrived about 11 in the morning and were delighted to be able to check in straight away. We had booked a superior room - we were on the 4th floor and had a little balcony - the beds in the superior rooms are 2 twins pushed together instead of a double which is my only complaint. The hotel does not provide tea/coffee making facilities so it might be an idea to bring a little travel kettle. Great shower, shampoo/soap is a dispenser on the wall, little welcome kits containing toothbrush and toothpaste/ shaving cream & razor etc.

We had breakfast included which was very nice - bread/cakes/pastries/fresh fruit/ juices/ cold meats/ cheese. The hot food was scrambled eggs, lovely backon an beans. There is a machine for making coffee/ espressos/ lattes etc.

On the 6th floor there is a lovely bar and roof top pool which was open during out stay. Towels were available.

We found all the staff very pleasant and helpful - we got a late check out until 2pm and hotel kpet our bags until later in the evening.

We arrived on Good Friday so had the opportunity to see some of the Easter Processions on both good Friday and Easter Sunday which were fabulous. We had dinner in Tapeo du Cervantes on the first night( rated one on Trip advisor) and it was gorgeous. We had booked in advance. We also had diner in El Trillo on another evening and again lovely.

Malaga is a lovely city and we would definitely go back

Very convenient location close to the old town. Rooms were tasteful but a little on the small side despite a large bathroom. The AC wasn't working yet as not in season but being south facing made them very warm. Despite that I'd definitely stay again.

The roof top bar was open and is a great place to see the town and ideal for sundown drinks.

Staff were all very helpful and accommodating with the place having a good buzz to it.

Room Tip: If same price put 2 adults on the booking. Rooms facing the road are south facing and can be very wa...

Stayed here for only one night in 2006 but enjoyed the hotel. It's not very personal, being a large hotel, but the staff are friendly and helpful and service is very good. Good location, pretty close to most things in Malaga.

Our room was very nice and I see they have redone most of the decor and it looks great so I would stay there again.

We chose this hotel because of its central location in Malaga, and the significantly lower than average price for this hotel at the time we booked. The hotel is roughly a 15-20 minute walk (or 7 EUR cab ride) from Malaga central train and bus station, and a shorter 10 minute walk to the heart of Calle M de Lanos. The immediate area around the hotel is nothing special, a parking garage and some minor shops/eateries, but the area felt safe and most nights families with young children were still walking around at 11pm.

Our room was fairly large even by American standards, and included a large bathroom with a shower/tub, a separate sleeping room with a double bunk-bed, and a main bedroom with a king bed and round breakfast table. The room had a nice ~32inch flat panel TV in each of the sleeping areas. Hotel breakfast wasn't included with our room so we ate at the cafe's in town.

There are a number of good restaurants within about a 10 minute walk, and given close access to the affordable trains and buses this was an excellent place to stay if you enjoy the city.

Room Tip: The hotel offers rooms with a view of the San Pablo church - we decided to take the rooms w/o a vie...

I visit Malaga for 4 days at the end of February every year and always stay at the Malaga Centro. I have nothing but praise for this hotel. It never drops its standards. The hotel was full this year and in spite of this the staff were as always so pleasant and willing to help in any way they can.

This hotel is in a great location, mid way between El Corte Ingleis and the Old Town. It is great value for money but I would suggest that anyone wishing to stay should check several hotel sites as they do vary and go for the Bed & Breakfast option as this works out cheaper.

I look forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: Ask for one of their newer rooms as they tend to be a bit brighter.
