“Hard to Beat in a Great City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2012

A week at this hotel passed quickly and was just as good as in April 2011 when the hotel had just opened.

The location is excellent, just three or four minutes walk from the Alameda Centro railway terminus served by the suburban coastal railway from Fuengirola and Torremolinos which stops at the airport frequently, and conveniently situated for the city centre with most attractions, shops and monuments just five to fifteen minutes walk away. The location of the hotel means that no car is necessary whether you want to stay in the city or explore the coast.

In addition to the two large El Corte Ingles department stores, there is a small shopping centre including a big FNAC book/media/electronics outlet all just a couple of blocks away in the local area. The big Larios Centro shopping centre includes a Eroski hypermarket, food court, and a wide variety of shops (including Primark and Dunnes Stores!) just ten minutes' walk away across the Avenida de Andalucia from the larger El Corte Ingles.

The rooms are plain yet trendily modern with cool colours, excellent bathroom and ample storage including a safe. A kitchen corner includes microwave, basin, kettle, fridge and a small supply of tea, coffee, etc. The beds are comfortable.

Housekeeping staff are pleasant effective while staff at reception are friendly, helpful and efficient, many speaking more than one language - good for those whose Spanish may be limited. There is a breakfast room and bar plus a small selection of food to heat in the microwave, ice cream, snacks etc. Needless to say the city centre is full of alternatives for food.

Only one negative - if your room is on the west side of the hotel, the car park 'guardians' include a woman with the biggest mouth in Andalucia!

Room Tip: Upper floor

Stayed 3 nights in this excellent hotel which offers suite style rooms at affordable price. The bathroom had both a bath-tub and rainforest shower. It also had a kitchenette with kettle and microwave. The breakfast downstairs offers a wide selection of cereals, fruit, meats, breads and beverages to start the day off. The hotel is easily reached by the excellent train which has a station just across the road from the hotel which will have you at the airport in 10 minutes which runs every 30 minutes for €1.40. Malaga is a lovely city to spend a 2/3 day break as it has wonderful shops and sights overlooking the Sea.

The positive things about this hotel are:
- it is very clean
- very functional rooms (kitchenette, kettle, etc.)
- easily accessible with airport busses
- separate toilette and bathroom is a plus
- nearby there is a department store (El Corte Ingles) with a supermarket, just in case.
- free movie packages and wifi

The few negative points I would list are that the beds were not that comfortable and the heavy doors make too much noise if not properly shut.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples and friends travelling together.

Stayed here when on an Archers Coach holiday. Good central position. Very modern with everything you could want. The breakfast area is quite small but the quality of Continental breakfast was excellent, different from normal hotels. If in Malaga would definitely stay there again, would definitely recommend a stay in Malaga we were very impressed with this city. Very clean, good walks around harbour and beaches, plenty of restaurants.

All commodities, welcoming and confi. altogether. no pointless extras. Good size bedroom, fantastic bathroom with spacious shower and bathtub. Microwave, mini fridge and sink. Free multilanguage sat. TV with latest movie release, free wifi. . Downstairs breakfast good quality (although I think hotel breakfast are always overpriced. In Malaga it is better to go to a cafeteria for an authentic "desayuno" Café con leche and Olive oil and Fresh tomato toast for less than 3 euros.) 24h Prepared meal, snacks and drink vending machines also available in lobby just in case. ., free internet corner, lounge with papers and mags. Helpful and smiling staff. Located 5 min. walk crossing the bridge from pedestrian Malaga town center. 100 m. from Corte Ingles shopping center. 15 min. taxi from airport (15 euros aprox.). Just perfect for business or cultural break. If you find a good deal, well worth it.
