Already loved glass but this visit added a new dimension. Very informative tour by the owner, we liked having the personal touch. Could go back again.

“Marvellous - do not miss this oportunity”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

Living history! Met by a retired Cambridge Don who gave us a wonderfully informative and interesting guided tour of a building he and colleagues have spent years restoring and filling with a multitude of glass exhibits, furniture and paintings. It was not so much a museum, more labour of love. It was not easy to find, in a backwater street, but persevere because it's worth every second.

“Informative, Interesting, Entertaining, and Engaging”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

As others have highlighted, this is an old Malaga home that has been faithfully restored and given a new life. It's in a narrow street off the beaten path, but this only adds to it's authenticity as a glimpse into the city's past.

The tour is given by one of the 3 owners, 2 of whom are British and one Spanish. In addition to showing off the home, they also live there; so when you show up the wait is only as long as it takes one to walk from the private apartment to the main entrance.

One of the British and Spanish are descendants of royalty in their respective countries. As such, the house is full of family heirlooms with respect to furniture and paintings that set the mood to highlight the glass pieces that abound. And there is an abundance! It's not overkill by any respect, but enough variation to find something that you deem interesting or odd enough to investigate further.

It's clear from the outset that there's no script. The owners ask you questions to figure out your knowledge and interest (or utter ignorance about!) in glass. From there they point out the things that they think you would find interesting. our tour took quite a while b/c we found it to be fascinating and wound up asking a ton of questions, which he was more than happy to oblige!

I highly recommend this unusual museum. It's a cheap exhibit at 4euro/pp and all the money goes straight back to the museum. It's good table talk for when you return from your vacation, and it's actually exceptionally interesting!

“Don't miss this very personal tour”
Reviewed 8 February 2012

This museum is a little out of the way of most of the tourist sites in Malaga, but well worth finding it. A wonderful and personable English professor of medicine spent a lifetime collecting crystal and glass and together with two partners who were also enthusiastic collectors of all things beautiful, bought this old mansion, renovated it and opened the museum. He will take you on a personal tour of the many rooms and explain the items, and you can ask all the questions you like, as glassware is his passion. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Malaga.
