The hotel is OK. It is modern, interesting, and quirky. The service was fine -- the guy at the front desk is a hoot. It is located away from everything but the messe, in a very industrial area that they have tried to spruce up. Thus, have money for cabs. There may be public transportation, but I did not see it anywhere. The rooms were fine and had no coffee service at all. That is Ok, I was not there for anything of those things. We were there for business, and for that purpose the hotel is awful. Upon entering, the aroma was of some food that had burned in the buffet line. This smell permeated the hotel. The prices were clearly 'business' prices, meaning abhorrent. Most of all, and most important, the Wi-Fi was abysmal. I could not make any business related activities due to the remarkably poor Wi-Fi. It is hard for me to relate how important a decent Wi-Fi setup is to my business and when I discovered that I got better Wi-Fi in Luanda Angola than I did in this hotel, I realized I had chosen poorly. I will not stay here again.

Room Tip: The elevator takes forever --stay on a lower floor.

This modern and comfortable hotel is situated in the middle of an historical industrial complex in a part of the city called DEUTZ named after the Deutz Motorcompany.
It offers you comfortable, clean and very modern rooms.

It's too far from the center to walk back after a night out, you'll have to take a cab but if you have the time during the day it's worthwile to make a long walk from DEUTZ to the centre of Cologne alongside the Rhine. Halfway you can take the Kölner Seilbahn, the cablecar, for a nice view over the city. On the other side you'll find the beautifull Flora and the Zoo.

It's 15 minutes walk distance to koelnmesse & s-bahn station, which means a good place for fair visitors. Except this, there is no problem with the hotel. It's clean, staff is polite and helpful. For people who wants to visit cologne, it's better to stay near altstadt, on the other side of Rhein.

Stayed one night while on a business trip. The hotel is very nice with a chic style, friendly and helpful staff and good food. It is however in a very odd location being in a part of Cologne that is ostensibly a very large industrial estate. The Koelnmesse is about 15 minutes walk away and there are some very well concealed clubs in the neighbourhood. Apart from that the neighbourhood is a bit bleak and lacks pubs, shops restaurants etc.

Room Tip: I had room 21, very nice and quiet.

Was booked here by local contacts while attending Dmexco. It's about a fifteen minute walk to the Koln Messe trade fair grounds.

It's a strange place. Quite well converted older building. A pleasant reception that doubles as a bar too. Very helpful young staff checking in, and took me personally to my room in the building next door (??). Spacious room, but dimly lit, and the bathroom was dark and the mirror so far back - not easy to shave!! But contemporary comfortable furnishings. I had a view of a builders yard and the hotel is actually surrounded by very old fascinating but neglected factories.

I did have something to eat - a snack in the bar. Curry-wurst and potatoes accompanied by a lettuce leaf masquerading as a salad. No real lower calorie offerings and the dsh seemed to be microwaved!

I departed very early in the morning (nice surprise the taxi showed up). While I was waiting I asked the desk agent for a glass of water (this was at the bar next to reception). I had paid by Euro 450 bill. Upon leaving the taxi I was asked for Euro 2.50 for the water - astonishing!

Would I return. Yes - if I was attending a trade fair. But the Radisson Blu up the road and closer to the Messe looked a better option!

Room Tip: Probably easier to be in the main building.
