Aspria is really a wellness spa located directly on the lake. They have a very nicely equipped fitness centre, wellness area with lots of sauna choices and places to relax, a very nice restaurant & they even have a beach to relax. All of this is included if you stay in one of their hotel rooms. The rooms are also very nice & modern with everything you need including a very large walk in shower. The city centre is about a 30-40 minute walk a way. This is not my first time or second time and won't be my last.

I am travelling to Hannover on a regular basis due to business engagements and have pretty much tried every respectable hotel in town, however none compare to the Aspria ... the rooms are designed for the business traveller - with a small closet and coat hangers for exactly 4 suits, WLAN available on the entire premises and a terrace with a view for (almost) every room.

The opportunities for passing the time in the evening are diverse - fitness studio, pool, courses or just a visit in the amazing sauna area (i haven't gotten around to counting all of them, but there must be at least 10 different Saunas, a separate pool and diverse relaxation areas including outside) and to the garden ... as for after sport relaxation, there is a great restaurant with healthy foods - steak and burger are of course on the menu, but also a variety of salads with a dressing of choice. On warm days, one can dine out on the terrace and enjoy the sunset over the Maschsee, which is also quite the delight.
There is also much to be said about breakfast in the restaurant - with great friendly service, reasonably priced and sizeable menus (from just fruit to a full croissant-egg-bacon-pancake menu) and a view, starting the day away from home can't really get much better.
Overall, the pool and the restaurant make the difference to any other business hotel, at least for me - I must say, I haven't been able to spend after work time on a Business trip in a more enjoyable and healthy manner so far.

We booked this hotel because we are members in Hamburg, and expected a lovely stay. We would therefore highly disappointed when we arrived and were given one of two rooms with no lake view (room 'Zulu') However, the manager, Ian, reacted highly professionally. We were offered a drink, a discount on the room, and his profound apologies. He also organised a table for us in a restaurant in Hannover centre so that we didn't have to sort that out while enjoying our complimentary drink.
We were so impressed by the location of the hotel right beside the lake with direct access to swimming and water sports that we decided to stay another night. For the second night we had one of the rooms with a lake view, and were very happy with it.

I have stayed here a few times. Close to city and Hannover messe right on the lake. It is a health club with new rooms that beat most local hotels. The gym and sauna are first class. Great staff always helpful. A restaurant at the front die insel has the best duck you will get anywhere.

Aspria Lodge Hannover is primarily a health club, with extensive first-rate gymnasium and exercise facilities, and a 20-room accommodation wing with lake views. This gave us a pleasant and interesting exposure to German health culture during the summer holiday high season in July 2012. I had heard many years ago about the popularity of health culture and spas in Germany, but had no prior experience of German health clubs or spas until our stay with Aspria.

We did not make much contribution in our own right to the ambience of healthy indulgence in exercise and sun worship, but we were made welcome by pleasant and helpful staff. It was inspirational, and novel, to walk out on the wide common balcony in late afternoon to watch a hot air sightseeing balloon taking off from the beach in front of our room - other guests enjoying the same spectacle while exercising.

The location, on the shore of a popular artificial lake, the Maschsee (constructed in a job creation scheme of 1934-36), is scenic and convenient for easy access to major sights of Hannover. It was ideal for guests like us, with a hire car. It is about 4km drive from the New Rathaus (town hall); 6km from the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station); and 7km from the Herrenhausen Gardens. Aspria guests have pass entry through a boom gate to offstreet open air parking next to the lodge reception. Unlike hotels, reflecting the health club/spa basis of Aspria, guest entry on foot through reception is also by pass entry through automatic barriers. Guests have full access to the excellent gymnasium, swimming, cycling and snack bar/bistro/restaurant facilities of the establishment.

The room was minimalist (no air conditioning, or even a refrigerator) but was very clean, modern and well maintained (no faults with fittings or appliances), with comfortable bedding and a good bathroom. Internet (included for guests) worked very well. International satellite television choices, in English, French, German and other languages, were adequate. Our room had plenty of power outlets and desk seating for computer use. It was good value for money at €119 per night. Perhaps the biggest deficiency of the room was less soundproofing and privacy than might usually be expected in four-star accommodation. Fellow guests may be heard talking next door. It is well away from street traffic and noise, however.

Aspria Lodge Hannover is well located and most convenient for visitors to Hannover with their own vehicles. We much preferred the setting and facilities to the very ordinary accommodation in typical railway hotels around Hannover's Hauptbahnhof. It is not necessarily the best choice for everyone, but we would stay there again and highly recommend it subject to the above considerations. Aspria's English-language web page at http://aspria-hannover.de/en has further information.
