I am a food lover and this is a food lover temple. You will find lots of cheeses, groceries, wines of very good quality and fair price. Dont miss this place.

Great food market are always fun, anywhere in the world - from the small markets in Southern France to big ones in Northern Thailand. Rarely have I seen "attractions" that are so similar and yet so different to what we know from home, and this is Frankfurt's contribution - and what a contribution this is!!!

Come in, smell the odors, eat the food and feel the vibe. Astonishing how attractively charming an ugly old warehouse from the Fifties of the last century can be, if it come with the best victuals in the city.

The Kleinmarkthalle is a traditional local indoor market near the Zeil (main road downtown Frankfurt). There are many little shops selling fresh local groceries but also delicacies from all over the world as well as very good liquor and local wines. It's fun just walking around and getting all those different smells ranging from sausages over seafood to antipasti and chocolate. It should not be too hard to find, as it is located on the maps you get at the hotels or the Tourist Office.

You won't find cheap things there but everything is of high quality. Besides, you will find many groceries that you do not find in the supermarket.

The best way to start exploring this tiny little jewel that survived the last 50 years' city planners is having a local rose sparkling wine upstairs. Then just follow your nose and enjoy. Finally, you should not leave without having had a Heisse Gelbe Worscht (warm yellow sausage, a local specialty) from the Metzgerei Schreiber, ground floor, No. 8 (you will notice the queue...).

Please note that the market usually closes at 6PM during the week and at 4PM on Saturday. The market is closed on Sunday. They sometimes have special events, so having a look at their homepage might not hurt.

Saw this was highly rated on TripAdvisor and decided to check it out. We had a little bit of a hard time locating it because there isn't a very large sign but nice food market. All food looked fresh with vibrant colors and there is a large selection to purchase whatever you are looking for.

Easy to get there, around couple of blocks from Zeil. Lots of good vendors for snacks and sweets etc. And my favourite part -- this indoor market didn't smell bad like some city markets do :)
