The Witthus (White House) is a charming old building hidden in the Hirschpark in Blankenese and it's ideal for all occasions from. Dogs are also allowed.
We enjoyed a family celebration in the afternoon with coffee/tea, cakes and champagne. The choice of cakes was not extensive but everyone seemed to enjoy theirs. Unfortunately, they could not offer anything for vegans, apart from a fresh fruit. Sorbet was only available on the evening menu.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant, toilets and surrounding areas were clean and well maintained.
Definitely worth a visit for either lunch, afternoon tea or dinner.

We found Witthüs by chance in the lovely green Hirschpark in the Blankanese suburb after a stiff night out with friends. Late on a Sunday morning we found they did brunch - perfect. It is delightfully old-world, a charming cafe/restaurant in a thatched cottage and welcomed both casual visitors like ourselves as well as large family parties. The brunch buffet was fantastic with plenty of choice even for vegetarians like us. Not cheap, but great value for money for both the food, the friendly welcome and lashings of old-world charm.

Apparently taking afternoon tea at the Witthus used to be something of an institution. It mirrors 'Old Germany' - very gentile, unrushed but organised - and has lovely quality teas, sandwiches and cakes. You can't order an 'afternoon tea' in the sense of a 'package'; rather, you order items separately. The food seemed similarly priced to other establishments, but the hot drinks needed a slightly 'deeper pocket.' In the evenings it turns into a very select restaurant. Enjoy!
