“Empty!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

The interior is as described by others and the food is good, but not exceptional. However, we were the only people in the restaurant all evening. Despite this we were not asked if we would like anything to drink, nor was a wine list provided until specifically requested.
Equally, at the end of the meal, we were not asked if we would like tea or coffee or any other drinks.
A strange experience to say the least!

“An Historical Journey.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2012

This is a restaurant with a very special atmosphere. Tapestry, furniture, lamps and paintings looks like coming from your grand-grandmothers home. You are welcomed as you were a private guest by a a man in the late seventies. He gives you perfect and personal service during the evening. The Menu is not big but varied. 150 euro for 4 dishes. The food is not from the last century. It has a contemporary look and taste wonderful. We will never forget this restaurant!

“I thought restaurants like this didn't exist anymore”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2012

All that has been said already is true. This is a unique and wonderful experience from start to finish - not to be missed. From the moment you enter after having rung for Mr Heising to let you enter, to the final farewell, you feel you are living an evening like no other. The recreation of a 1900s restaurant felt real, the 1930s (?) music fitted well, the fire crackled and the service was friendly and efficient. The food was delightful, the wine recommendation was excellent. We shall remember this evening for many years to come.

“An experience of a lifetime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2012

Went to Heising for my mother's birthday. We chose the place based on good reviews on TA, and were not disappointed.

We had four courses, including the lamb for the main course and the creme brulee for dessert. For me, those two where the highlights. The food truly met the standards of a gourmet restaurant.

We were serviced by the owner of the place, an older gentleman. The service was impeccable. We visited Heising on a monday, so there was only one group other than us visiting the place.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is really what makes this restaurant stick out from the crowd. Persian carpets, mahogny tables and a lit fireplace.. You really feel like your in the dining room of a duke or a fürst or something.

My mother was overwhelmed with the place, thought it was an experience of a lifetime. A great place for a special occasion!

“Back in time and how wonderfull is that”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2012

We did not read any of the reviews and only saw the rating and the proximity to our hotel. The door had to be opened for us and once you step in you step back in time. Heisling has been open for 33 and I thing the decore was even classic when it opened.

Mr. And Ms. Heisling are gentle and warm people. The menu is classic french and the food is great. Souses make the dishes perfect. If you see the high ratings you might expect even better food but the ambiance takes the 4,5 stars to the 5 stars.

Me and my wife are both in our early 30s and the step back in time was a big one for us which we really enjoyed. I thing that people in their 70’s would enjoy it even more so bring your (grand)parents along.

We payed 150,- including tips for the two of us for a 3 course meal including a surprising bottle of German Cabernet sauvignon. The espresso was not a espresso but a small and very warm cup of coffee. If that's the only remark you can make a restaurant and its owners deserve a 5 star rating.
