Like every year and hotel on new years eve, the hotel was overpriced. The first guy at reception was very helpful and explained lots of details around Berlin, so we thought everything would be fine. He also told us that there would be a night-service at reception (a sign says its 24/7), but it may happen that the night shift worker may be out for "a few minutes", so I dropped the key at reception (we didn't know if we come back together).
The disaster starts here. It ended up that we had to wait 20 Minutes outside in the cold, the guy from night shift left his phone number inside the hotel and locked the door, what is really helpful in our case. Without the help of another guest we would have waited longer.
At the morning there was no hot water for shower, a nice experience after such a cold night. Breakfast was quite good, lots of things to choose from and of good quality and taste. Unfortunately all the doors were open to outside for cleaning so we froze while having a breakfast.
The beds were clean and comfortable, the bathroom was the opposite. The whole place smelled a bit, there was no possibility to lock the door when on toilet because the key was missing.More
