This hotel was everything you expected it to be and more; it’s the Ritz! What really did it for us was the outstanding service. The staff were always willing to help us with anything and everything - from charging phones post check-out to giving us milk alternatives at breakfast. Thank you so much!

Spent the weekend in Berlin and chose to stay at the Ritz Carlton, I couldn’t have made a better choice. From the moment we checked in to the second we left, we were treated like Royalty. Very personal and excellent service. Stayed in the renovated part of the hotel on the top floor - guess it was an upgrade as an American Platinum and Marriott gold member. Breakfast was FANTASTIC, Front desk staff AMAZING, Concierge, extremely HELPFUL and Bell Boys, ever so WELCOMING! Highly recommended! Great location! Thanks Ritz.
I will definitely be back many times and over.

The ongoing refurbishment meant that most of the reception area on the ground floor was boarded off, which left only a small desk for reception and concierge. We checked in and were given room 1025 on the 10th floor. It was a refurbished room since we last stayed here and it looked gorgeous. Light decor with brown and purple highlights, large and comfy bed, large sofa, a built-in unit with hidden Nespresso machine and fridge. Loads of power points and usb charging points, including two each side of the bed. The WiFi was fast enough for emails etc. and free. The views weren't great, looking straight over into a block of offices.
The bathroom had a large bath, separate shower and two washbasins. The shower was reasonably good and there were lots of Aspley toiletries.
The turndown service was very good: left a chocolate and tidied up.
We were aware of the noise from the refurbishment, but it wasn't too bad on the tenth floor: imagine it was worse further down, and it was every day, including weekends.
The Club Lounge wasn't the best we've ever been in. The food was good: lunches included soups, sandwiches, wraps and cold meats and dinners included cod and mash, chicken curry and beef casserole. The breakfast was excellent: eggs cooked to order and bacon, hash browns etc. plus fruit, cold meats, yoghurt and pastries. However, the service was surprisingly lax for a RC. The staff were mostly absent in the evening, which meant waiting for someone to appear to pour you a drink, as the alcohol was not out in the lounge. The bottles of still water in the fridge ran out on one evening and were not replaced.
The location is excellent, right by Potsdamer Platz station, Brandenburg Gate and Mall of Berlin, but not noisy in the evenings.

Perfectly located on the Postdamer Platz, with everything you want and need to do either around you or easy to get to by train or taxi. Extra friendly staff who make you feel like you are family, not just a guest, especially the doormen, who are awesome and funny. Thanks for the luggage tag!!!
Room was spotless, as to be expected. Decor was a mix of modern with some quirky vintage touches, which makes you look twice and then realize, ahhhh, that's what it is.
Certainly would stay here again, as it has everything you could need for a city break.

The Potsdamer Platz area is idea for tourism and this hotel is right there. I have previously stayed at the Marriott next door and the Grand Hyatt over the road so I thought I would give this a try.

I had around three nights here in June. Booked through American express which guaranteed a $80 or so credit to food and beverages, breakfast plus a room upgrade to a junior suite if available plus early checkin/late checkout. I have no loyalty status at this chain.

Early checkin went fine with efficient service and the room was ready. Not upgraded a suite I guess because I needed two beds and those suites don't come with two beds. It was quite a high floor so maybe that was my upgrade?

The room itself was fairly standard; reasonable size, nothing special. Nice bathroom with separate toilet shower and bath, quite luxurious really. The windows in the room actually open which is always nice. There is a coffee making machine in the room which can also be used as a kettle for tea.

Breakfast was a lovely buffet but you could choose some a la carte options also. The service for coffee was brilliant on 2/3 mornings with a really efficient lady never letting my cup go empty. On the last day they had some younger staff on who seemed to struggle even though the restaurant was not that busy.

The Curtain Club provided excellent service into the early hours; brilliant cocktails, some novel, some classics. Speed and attentiveness of service was first class esp from the young lad who was getting married soon butt he staff were all great.

Although there are a couple of other bars/restaurants mentioned on the website, I didn't actually see them open and didn't visit.

Gym is disappointing, not many weights and mainly cardio machines. Pool isn't particularly big either although there is a steam room and sauna.

Overall, this hotel could have been just about anywhere like big international chains are. It did a good enough job but I wasn't that excited about it. I've been next door when the Film Festival is on, and there are lots of famous faces staying at this hotel so it does have something, but next time I would probably try something else rather than have the urge to come back to this hotel.
