Owner description: Collection of a variety of musical instruments from the 16th to the 20th century.

As a professional musician, I'm always looking for fun new music places to visit. This museum features instruments from many centuries, beautiful placed and cared for. It was fascinating, and I spent most of the time secretly wishing I could play them all! Excellent exhibit on electronic music, which I find is often ignored when discussing the 20th century.

This is my second trip to Berlin and to this museum. It is amazing to see the instruments that date back hundreds of years (especially being a musician). This time I brought my daughter and her friend, and they enjoyed the new electronic instrument section. I didn't know if they would ever leave it! This new section allows people to play new-fangled devices. It's a place for all.

You cannot enjoy the museum if
1. You dont speak german
2. You are not into intruments massively
3. You get bored easily

The thing about this museum is its better described as a piano shop with no price tag. You are not allow to touch anything apart from 1 % of what they show. English help was minimal if you ask me.

The English version was shorter than the german version on most cards. Rather than explaining what are the differences, they just tell you this was own by so and so...

Great place for any musician / amateur / hobbyist to visit! Learned a lot and enjoyed the museum. There are so many instruments and you get a good audio guide.
