We stayed at the Ludwig Van Beethoven Hotel for a couple of nights in late May. The hotel is otherwise rather nice, not a bulk hotel. However, two major minuses, no air-conditioning, which would have been very welcome with the 27-30 degrees outside temperature, and no safety boxes. The staff was very friendly and breakfast good. As the weather was nice you could enjoy your breakfast in a nice garden on the second floor. The noise from the street could bother someone more sensible, not us. But you can always have a room on the inner side of the building, so no real problem. The lack of AC dropped the stars to three from four.

Good hotel in a great location minutes from the u-bahn stop and walking distance to some of the cities hippest districts basic accommodations and somewhat dated a few things however could have made the stay even better there's no kettle or mini fridge in the room and no A/C so if visiting in summer months could get uncomfortable. Nice breakfast buffet available inside or outside on the terrace a friendly staff at reception and housekeeping overall a solid choice when staying in Berlin.

Thank your very much for your positive review. We are glad that you enjoyed staying with us and only a few things were missing to make your visit even more comfortable. Unfortunately we cannot supply a kettle or mini fridge for the room. But you can get hot water or cold drinks anytime at the reception. We hope to welcome you again some time in the future. The Ludwig Van Beethoven Hotel is ideally located on Hasenheide in the Kreuzberg area south of the city centre. Its a short walk from Hermanplatz U Bahn station, across the road from a large park and close to restaurants serving food from Italian to Vietnamese.
The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was located at the back of the hotel so the view wasn't great, although we could see the Fernsehturm, and we were away from the noisier side by the main street. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice of cereals, bread, pastries, cold meats, cheeses and fruit. There was also a limited hot option each day.

Hotel location is great. Not far from Hermannplatz U Bahn (3-4 minutes walk). Parking is available at cost if you come by car.
Reception is on level 2 accessible by the lift. The lift is the first problem with the hotel. You have to use lift that only goes to level 2. Then change for another lift to go to your room. Crazy and time wasted on waiting - I used the stairs more often but not handy for the elderly or infirm.
Reception was fine and quick.
The room size is spacious and beds good. Bathroom plain and a bit small but certainly clean - noisy fan was annoying (no window)
Breakfast was a buffet that was served from 7am until 10am. A bit plain in the choices but certainly a choice for anything just nothing exciting.
Lots of great small restaurants and places to eat in the close vicinity - nothing fancy for tasty international food.
I had a non-smoking room but there are rooms for smokers.
The massive problem for me was the noise from the street - noisy motorbikes, noisy cars, people shouting etc, etc. Impossible to get sleeping even with the windows closed. This then brought up the next problem - there is no Air Conditioning . It was very warm in Berlin when I stayed here so I needed to open the windows to get some air - and then, you guessed it the noise was unsupportable.
If you are going to stay here then you must insist on a room on the other side of the building or you will go crazy.

Room Tip: You must insist on a room away from the side facing the busy street

Dear customer, thank your very much for your review. Our guests opinion is very important to us and can help to improve our service. We are sorry that there were quite a few things that didn't make your stay enjoyable.
Let us correct one thing of your review for future guests. A limited number of parking spaces are available in the back yard. You will need a permit which you can get at the reception depending on availability. The permit is free of charge.
The system of the two elevators is for our guests security. Because the hotel only starts on the 2nd floor it is necessary to change the lift. This is for us to see who enters the hotel and strangers won't be able to go the guest floors unnoticed.
Because our bathrooms have no windows the fan is a necessary feature. We are sorry that it was to loud. If you would have let us know we could have told the technician to check and repair it.
Our breakfast buffet offers a variety of different food. We are open for any suggestion to make it more exciting.
Unfortunately Berlin never sleeps. There are always some sounds of the big city but our windows are soundproof to make sure our guests get the rest they need. We are sorry if this was not the case in your room. We will check the windows and repair them.
If you would like to give us a 2nd chance and like toi stay with us again sometime in the future we would be very happy.
