This is second jotel with Shearings Bavaria, and what a difference (see my other review)
This hotel is clean spacious, friendly in fact everthing you could what from a hotel. The foid is exceptional great choice well cooked hot and as much as you can eat. A four course dinner every evening and there are that many courses at breakfast I have not counted them all. All the staff are friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. Had a great time less than 5 minutes walk from the bustling vibrant town centre. I highly in fact more than highly recommended this hotel to everybody. Its an hotel were you get champagne quality for lemonade money. We thank all the staff for making ours brilliant stay in Nuremberg

We spent one night here after an eleven hour train journey from London.On arrival the service was very efficient enabling our group to sit down without delay to a well prepared dinner. The bedroom was clean and comfortable with a good modern bathroom. There was a good choice of food both hot and cold for the buffet breakfast..The hotel is a short walk from both the railway staition and the historic city centre.

My room was spacious, but a bit worn, and I did not like the old carpet. Lobby also not very welcoming. There is a pool in the basement, and I was told the small gym is next to it, but I did not find it. Personnel very friendly, and there is a coffee machine in the lobby for coffee to go (no coffee making facilities in the room). Recommend to look elsewhere for a more modern hotel.

thank you for the visit and this review. We are aware that our hotel is a bit elderly meanwhile. But soft-renovation works are ongoing. The focus is on carpets and wallpapers.
We are sure that we are able to overcompensate our disadvantage with our outstanding service-attitude in all operational areas.
Try it out when you come back!

We spent two nights here on business. Room wise,it was very late 80's decor. Paint chipped around door frames, a toilet that came from the wall and creeked everytime one sat on it. The shower head gave had a very sharp and prickly feel to the skin and the bathroom was clearly in need of an upgrade alongside the bedroom decor.
The hotel itself is clean, staff are attentive and Tony the bartender brightened up day with his extensive knowledge of cocktail making.
Breakfast was average, hence I made it continental.

thank you very much for the stay with us and the detailed review. We started a facelift of our rooms this summer. Room by room we put new carpets and wallpaper. The "new" rooms look much more fresh than the old one. Unfortunately it needs some time to have all the rooms ready. So please excuse that you have had one of the older rooms obviously.
We will pass the praising words to our head of bar. We are quite aware that Tony is a gem in our team. But anyhow; thank your very much for making mention of it.

Stayed at the Maritim for three nights as part of a tour of Germany. Ideally situated for the old town and close to the station. Large room which was clean and tidy, free safe, the only downside was the pillows but it would appear that Germany don't do pillows very well . The food was very good with plenty of choice. There is a swimming pool in the basement and I wished that I had my trunks with me. The hotel is full of old world charm and the dining room is amazing. I would be very happy to stay here again.
