Even though it was only May we struck very hot weather (again, so maybe our ability to judge timing is suspect), but the point is Laimer Hof has no aircon, and no lift (although in fairness the staff assisted with lugging our cases up and down on arrival and departure).

There are some positives: very nice neighbourhood , close to Nympenburg and Hirschgarten, and close to public transport. Plenty of hot water. Friendly and super helpful service with advice on transport, etc. but with some issues (see negatives below). Spotlessly clean. Breakfast OK but not best in Germany.

Unfortunately there is a long of negatives: towels are small and due for renewal. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and tea downstairs costs 2.90 euros. No safe. Not enough toilet paper (no spare roll). Wifi was lightning fast but tricky to use, instructions provided by the hotel were inadequate, and we had issues reconnecting. Toiletries were minimalist and basic. The mixer tap in the bathroom hand basin was incorrectly plumbed, so you had scalding hot water when you wanted cold, and a freezing cold shave.

Then lastly our departure was marred by an unpleasant experience. We had originally been advised by the owner (I assume) to get a taxi to Liam S-Bahn station (easy walking distance without luggage) and the a train to the airport. However, on the morning of departure we were advised to get the taxi to Moosach station allegedly because it would be easier to cope with our luggage. Firstly the taxi originally ordered for us did not arrive. A second taxi came promptly but the end result was a 20 euro taxi ride and we still had to haul our luggage up and down multiple flights of steps. Had we been properly advised about the taxi fair (20 plus 24 for the train) we would have opted to use a taxi all the way to the airport.

Overall my opinion is that you can do a lot better in Munich for the money.

Dear guests, dear readers,

many thanks for choosing our hotel. My wife and I are running this historical hotelvilla built 1886 (listed building) since meanwhile 15 years. We have many regular guests and try to do all we can to make their stay happy. This is the aim in our life! As our hotel is not too big (23 rooms), we nearly always are successful. Otherwise we would not have been able to "survive" for 15 years.

We are very sad that you were not happy in some points. For us guests who do not inform about their wishes or any issues during their stay are very difficult to handle.

One of our policies is to permit room changes as long as this is possible. If there was any problem with the room, its size or its decoration we could have given another room without any hesitation. Each of our 23 rooms is different which is the charme of the hotelvilla.

So dear reader and guests, please come to the reception, come to us and inform us also about your wishes and possible issues. We have 7 double rooms on the ground floor without any stairs to walk. We are here to help you every day and to try to make yourself as comfortable as possible. We will do our very best! We bring every client to his room and offer to carry the luggage without any charge.

We try to improve our breakfast continuously and offer since 2 weeks for example also scrambeld eggs made by Monika who used to be a real cook.

You can enjoy our coffe and tea specialities in our lobby or garden but we certainly bring them to your room whenever you want. We also offer at the reception water heaters for your room with anyting you need, please again just let us know about it.

We did not know about the mixer tap in the bathroom as nobody told us. My wife Alexandra went to the room and fixed it withhin 1 minute. A previous client probably just turned the regulation, this happens rarely.

Our front office manager Jan is very sorry about the recommendation he gave you. He really thought giving you a nice advice sending you to the Mossach train station saving some heavy carrying of your luggage at the station. Normally the taxi ride is a reasonnable 10 Euro. Again sorry therefore. We never had a bad feedback in this point before and will not recommend this anymore to the clients. Jan works since 7 years for us and gives an absolute didication to his daily work with plenty of passion and happiness.

Each guest should become a friend of our family and should feel as at home. This is what we are and this is our aim and we hope to continue our wonderful daily work for many more years.

Best regards from Munich and Nymphenburg Palace

Alexandra and Sebastian Rösch (Owner), Jan and the Laimer Hof hotel team

Chosen because close to Hirschgarten, but found the area to be perfect in se.
Kind staff, quiet rooms where awakened to birdsong in the morning while only 10 min from city centre.
Everything perfect.
We will be back!

We loved our stay at Hotel Laimer Hof. It is a very convenient location, within walking distance from the trains station and trams into town. Two of the closest attractions that we loved was the Botanical gardens at the Nymphemburg palace and the Königlicher Hirschgarten (Large Biergarten) which we easily walked to. The neighborhood itself is residential and mostly quiet. The rooms are clean, spacious, with large windows. We trekked over Europe for over a week staying in various hotels/airbnbs and Hotel Laimer Hof's beds were definitely the most comfortable during our trip. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. When we come back to Munich, we will plan to stay here again.

We recently stayed at Laimer Hof and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect,. Nice quiet residential area near the beer gardens and Nymphenburg palace as well as easy convenient transit in to City centre. Great breakfasts as well, and close to many very good restaurants. Also used the free bikes to take a ride around the neighbourhood.
I would highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel
