“Superb!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2012

Just spent a few days in this hotel and i have to say that it was great. The service is excellent, the bulding and the rooms are lovely and the area where it is located is very charming. Really, this is the place where you have to stay in Munich. If you have the budget for of course.

Room Tip: Room 357 is very charming and cosy. It is on 2 floors and you have an exclusive access to the terras...

A little out of the centre of town, the boutique renaissance style Palace Hotel promises much but just falls short on delivery. Seven of us arrived at the same time and whilst the lone desk clerk did his best to check us all in, it took an age. My room was small although adequate...not how I would like to describe a 5* hotel room with prices to match. I got moved to another room again ok - bigger - but nothing special. Room was very clean with Molton & Brown toiletries. All the usual facilities plus room safe which is good. I had a small balcony overlooking the garden which was pleasant. Lift was very slow (only 1 lift) and this can be very frustrating at busy times in the evening and morning. Small cosy bar is very welcoming along with a small restaurant which again looks nice. Breakfast was good but not great and at €25, it should be incredible. Courtyard has tables which must be nice to sit at when weather permits. All in all a very pleasant stay. But for the prices and the accolade of a 5* boutique hotel it should be more than pleasant, it should be great….and I don’t think its as good as that. I think there are better priced, better located and simply better hotels in Munich.

It’s really a beautiful hotel. Dinner was awesome and worth full to pay for it. The staff here wasn’t that friendly, but, service was quite good. The best thing about this hotel was the quality of the pillows - amazing and we had a good night's sleep. Hotel was very clean and we found cleaning staff working there round the clock, probably in 3 shifts. The receptionist on front desk was beautiful as well as excellent, as far as customer service is concerned. Room boys, appeared to be not interested (or bothered), but provided smooth services.
An executive on front desk gave us detail information about 'places to visit' and 'things to do' in the city while on a family vacation, and he was quite expert in that. He provided excellent tips to be taken care about various places in the city about obvious problems an outsider may face.

We had a wonderful stay at the Palace Hotel in Munich from Dec. 28, 2011 to Jan.04, 2012. The hotel is small, very quiet (a must for my husband and me!), in a beautiful neighbourhood, and the service is very good. Breakfast is expensive (25 euros per person), but it is worthwhile, given its quality. We had a deluxe room: beautiful, large, extremely comfortable, and with a lot of windows opening to the garden. The bathroom was not large, but it was very clear (it also had a window, which is not very usual in hotels) and had a good shower. Bus and tram stops are half a block away from the hotel and, given Munich's excellent transportation system, it takes no time going everywhere: concerts, museums and the old center. The Nymphemburg Castle is only half an hour by tram! Across the street there is an excellent gourmet shop, Käfer, also with a café/restaurant. Munich is a wonderful city, specially if you are interested in art, music, restaurants, and... shopping.
We only had two minor inconveniences at the hotel: a) our safe stop working. We informed the front desk but nobody could fix the problem (it was New Year's eve); we waited another day and had to complain again to have the problem solved; b) we asked the attendant at the front desk to see whether there were tickets available for two concerts. She never returned our demand. I think she simply forgot it. We decided then to go directly to the Tourist Office on Marienplatz and fortunately we managed to attend a wonderful concert at the Cuvilliés Theater, a 17th.-century rococo jewel.
Anyway, we can certainly recommend the Palace Hotel for an excellent stay in a lovely city.

We stayed here in December. After a bad experience in Nuremberg we were hoping for a great experience in Munich and we got it! The hotel was lovely. Most importantly though, the service was fantastic. They took care of all of our meal reservations, found us a bar to watch "El Classico" and stocked the mini bar with local beer (included in the price of the room).

Also, we brought our two small dogs with us and they bellhop brought up special stuff for them-beds, bowls and a bag of treats for each. We were all happy!

The only two downsides are cost and location-it is a little far from the center of town.
