First of all I have to praise the location, an unbelievable beautiful lake and germanys highest mountain "Zugspitze" just minutes away.

Secondly the staff is very supportive, the hotel provides an excellent breakfast buffet and 3 course dinner (plus salad buffet and Dessert buffet), a private beach with complementary beach chairs, sun umbrellas and different kind of boats for exploring the lake and a swimming pool. There is a parking lot free of charge.

The room was very spacious but was lacking an air condition, so it was very warm at night and difficult to sleep. Furthermore the bathroom was small and lacking eqipment you expect in a 4 star hotel - we found a toilet "from the last century" and a plastic toilet brush looking very cheap. The room was located on the 4th floor, unfortunately the elevator went to the 3rd floor only, you have to use additional stairs to go to your room.

Nevertheless we will return for sure due to the unique location and the overall performance.

But: Make sure not to get a room on the 4th floor and ask for a room with a more modern and spacier bathroom. In this case you will enjoy the hotel for sure.

We stayed at the Eibsee Hotel, the only Hotel on Lake Eibsee, for a week in July. This is a spectacular area with breathtaking views of the Alps and surrounding forests. The hotel is owned by a German family and is an old hotel, but well kept. The staff is very pleasant and helpful and fluent in English. It has a very nice restaurant with standard German breakfast and , usually, a five course dinner. There is a nice indoor pool and sauna. This is an older hotel and not "posh", but the staff is very good and the setting is unique. The crystal clear Eibsee is swimmable in July and boats are available to hotel guests. Take the train and gondola to the Summit of Zugspitze, where you can enjoy the view with a beer and bratwurst. Great hiking trails and the Bavarian village of Garmisch nearby.

Room Tip: all rooms have a balcony that face the lake

We lucked in to this place purely by accident. It's marvelous location and amenities are a sure-fire remedy for a fast-paced lifestyle. While the beds aren't that great, who cares? The level of service is wonderful in every part of this resort. It's a great value, too. We had breakfast and dinner included, and it was very reasonable. The resort has paddle boards, canoes and kayaks available right at the dock, and further down the shore you can rent paddle boats that are lots of fun. The view is not to be believed! Our room was a corner room with a wrap-around deck with views of the lake and Zugspitz. The resort is located at the base of Germany's highest peak, and with an easy walk you can ride the gondola to the top for some remarkable views all around. Highly recommend this resort. Wish we had stayed longer.

Room Tip: Ask for the lake view - marvelous! The pictures online don't do it justice.

We visited in a group of ten.
The hotel is the only hotel in the Lake and it benefits from amazing views of the lake and the zigspitze mountain.
Room was great. Particularly liked the bed!
Slept really well every night.
The hotel has an indoor pool and a gym too.
They also provide boats to use on the lake.
Great place for a break.
The only slight negative we had was that the service was quite slow if you went to the restaurant at busy times. Did was outstanding though

Great hotel, with great views! Take a long, leisurely walk around the lake, stop by the Eibsee-Pavilion for a beer or lunch on the lake, or walk across the street and take the cable car up to the Zugspitze. Easy 10min drive into Garmisch downtown area to do some shopping. Loved staying here!
