The Atlas Sporthotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is relatively well maintained; appears to have been built in the late 1980's, but there appears to have been some renovations made to finishes in the public spaces and the rooms have been given a pretty modern touch.
Worst part of the hotel: the bathroom - it has a TINY shower. I'm not kidding when I say the way into the shower was less than 18" wide (not even two toothbrushes in width). And trying to turn around in the shower means you WILL hit the water valve and either burn yourself or chill off quite a bit. I was tempted to shower downstairs in the sauna room.
I am also not at all happy that from the outside of the room, you are able to tell if someone is inside (if they are using electricity) - when you put your key into a lock inside the room to turn the electricity on, there is a green/red light outside the door. No one needs to know if I'm in the room or not.
Breakfast was not included with the room rate, but could be purchased for 9,99€. The breakfast was about normal, but I was surprised to see warm Wiener Würstchen available (not really normal for German hotel breakfasts) - we went around the corner to a café next to the Netto market in Partenkirchen and saved 10€/day.
