We choose Mercure Hotel for its positive reviews, we booked over well known platform the one night sleep over as we did many times before, 2 adults and 1 toddler- as usual I added the comment to possibly have the single bed for kid and not the crib - a request usually satisfied with no major problem. Not at Mercure Hotel Stuttgart. We found the hotel pretty quickly, the parking useful - remember to ask the ticket when you check out, even if you enter for free ( the gate was open whole the time) you will need it to leave. Upon our arrival we were informed the booked room was king size bed but ready for a single person, we asked to have the single bed added for our kid but it was not possible, we were told they had no additional beds, no available rooms with 2 beds and only thing they could do for us was to add 2 more pillows and one more blanket. The room was recent, but the bathroom not. The courtesy shampoo and body lotion were open - probably refilled. Not a thing and service you want to hear after all day travel. Service was limited, failing on details, scarce attention. We will try different hotel next time.

Good hotel with friendly and helpfull personel.
Rooms smell a bit funny (bathroom) and are old. Bit noisy too. Restaurant is good, would recommend.
There are better choises in town though, both SPG hotels Meridian and Aloft have much better rooms.

We are glad that you found the staff friendly and helpful.

The SPG hotels Meridian and Aloft are also nice hotels.

I have stayed many times in different Mercure Hotels either in Germany or some other Europen countries. More or less all have the same stantards; not high not low; somewhere in between. This one has small rooms with thin walls, as well as small restaurant and bar. For me travelling for business, ironing is important, unlike the other Mercure(s), there was an iron room, however it was terrible. Iron was also old and leaves stain on your shirt. Be careful.

I stayed for one night before going back home from business trip in nurtingen, since this was the first time, it was quite difficult for me to reach the hotel from the central station.
But then i realized after checking in, that should have take another one/two stop subway to the library and would have been easier to walk by to the hotel.
Location quite near to shopping mall, where you could find all the needs.

The receptionist lady, whom i forgot the name, was quite nice, to offer me late check out, due to my evening flight.
Room size was adequate enough for two people, not so small like hong kong.

Good quality 4* modern Accor hotel.

The staff - especially Christina on receiption, who did all she could to upgrade me - deserve a 4 out of 5 rating for their approach to customer service.

The "City Centre" tag to the name is a little misleading, as it's a good 15 to 20 mins walk to the centre (especially the Christmas Market) but there is the option to take the Metro, which takes no time at all.

There is little in the way of bars & restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
