It’s a nice restaurant. Nearly everything inside is white or light beige (the curtains are a bit darker), thus making one have good feelings since he enters the premises. There is a white piano as part of the decoration which matches very well with the rest of it. When I was there it was Christmas time and there was additional decoration in the form of motifs characteristic of that season. The whole was arranged with very much taste and aptness.
The food is very good there, particularly as far as Italian specialities is concerned. I ordered tuna spaghetti and it was delicious. The other customers also looked like being rather satisfied.
The waiter who attended me, the only one working there at that moment, was rather diligent. I can’t say he was kind but at least he wasn’t impolite.
I popped down that restaurant on my way to the hotel from the Festspielhaus, after having attended a concert in that theatre, for it seemed the best one of all those I saw on that way. The outside is very attractive and the atmosphere inside is pleasant. The music consists mainly of Italian songs and due to the fact that it’s not too loud it can even be deemed bearable and agreeable.
On the basis of the foregoing it’s clear that the said restaurant is a recommendable place to have a meal in Baden-Baden.

Friendly quaint place. We stopped in for lunch while we were waiting for our room. The food was good and authentic for the region of Italy. Prices were good for the amount of food we got. Varied clientele. The setting was also great for people watching while we dined. We would return.

Having said that our waiter was friendly and attentive. We started with garlic prawns but sadly they were so overlooked they were like rubber. The pasta was also overcooked. However the fish was delicious as was the wine the waiter recommended. Water at 7 euros a bottle was a crazy price . I can't help feeling the wine and water were enthusiastically topped up to generate extra sales. It wasn't cheap or to be honest even good value. Wouldn't repeat the experience sadly.

FYI: the name on the windows of this restaurant reads "L'Opera Romano" vs "Romano".

We wandered into this place because it was the only thing open late at night in the town/along the promenade.

This is a very quaint, romantic looking restaurant, with lit candles on every table and a piano in the middle of the dining room. When you walk in, it smells AMAZING.

We were seated quickly but it took quite a while before the waiter came back to take our order. I think you may just need to expect a slow paced meal when dining here.

We ordered a tortellini in cream sauce / carbonara, and a shrimp pasta. Both were outstanding, and at €9 and €12 each, I thought they were an outstanding value.

Like all German restaurants, expect that you'll need to buy a bottle of you want water, and also the waitperson will only come around if you call them over.

Overall, if you're not in a hurry, this is an excellent option.
