After a little difficulty finding it we were very very happy when we did. We were welcolmed by a very nice lady who personally looked after us for the 24 hours we were there. We had the Maurberg room in which every little detail had been carefully thought out and designed as had all area's of the hotel.
The steam room and sauna area were just perfect, the breakfast all fresh ingredients and we had a delicious evening meal.
i just wish all the hotels on our European tour were as good as this.
All the staff were really friendly and I would definately recommend a visit.

The room was really beautiful and decorated with a calming wine theme. The views from the room balcony were beautiful - the small willage and rolling hills used for wine growing. There would have been even some German wine-themed novels for the guests to read.

The breakfast was great. The food in the restaurant was also delicious - a bit expensive but worth it. There were not so many vegetarian options. They also claim to have over 400 wines in the wine list.

The only negative aspects: the trip to center of Baden Baden is only 12km but the roads are so slow to drive (small village streets and curvy hill roads) that it takes almost 30 minutes to get there. Another small minus was the expensive laundry service.

After a disappointing stay in Honfleur, France, our next stop was Baden Baden & we were in for a treat.... I had read a couple of negative reviews on this website but they were totally unfounded.
If I had known how lovely this hotel was I would have extended my stay......

I have told the owner (Barbara Beck) that their website does not do it justice & her reply was: "we like to surprise" & how true it is.... We stayed in the themed room Capaia which I thought would be a nice touch as my wife is South African born & it was well thought out. We even drank the wine from the South African region which it is named after & was told about the links between the hotel & the winery.

The surrounding views are stunning, food 1st class & service excellent, with Barbara attentively speaking to everyone whilst waiting to be served our meal. You certainly won't get this personal touch from a 'chain hotel' regardless of it's stars.....
Unfortunately, the weather was not good for the only full day we had to explore Baden Baden but we had the benefit of using the sauna & spa facilities in order to relax.

Would I stay here again? Most definately & longer than 2 nights... Thank you to ALL.

Room Tip: An ideal place to stay if you want a quiet location, ignore any negative reports regarding parking...

We stayed for 3 nights and were in the room Mauerberg. The hotel is quaint, the decor is slightly old style which could do with a refresh but is fine for the country inn market this hotel caters for. We had a reasonable balcony with view to the side of the grapes but not a full view as I had expected. The room was slightly odd in layout and decor but whatever, this is not the make or break of a good hotel experience. The main disappointment was the restaurant. Breakfasts were very average in quality and standard and the evening meal was dire and so incredibly disappointing because the restaurant was the main reason I'd chosen this hotel to stay in. The duck breast had not been rested at all before it was sliced and ended out as a grey overcooked lump sitting in a bloody pool on the plate, the cod in "lobster sauce" was actually ghastly. The sauce had not been executed to any level of finesse, in my own kitchen at home I would have been aghast if I had served this dish (as I would have been with the duck). There was no substance to the sauce, it was watery and no effort had been made to get the lobster jus out of the shells so I had a piece of fish resting in orange watery stuff that tasted like nothing at all. We skipped dessert and left feeling very disappointed. No we didn't send the food back as we simply felt the restaurant was not at a good standard and didn't want the food replaced. A real letdown. There are better restaurant options in this lovely village . We wouldn't stay in this hotel again.

Initially only staying 1 night but the quality of the hotel, the food, the staff, the rooms and quiet location made us change plans and stay an extra night. An excellent contemporary, boutique hotel, no pool but a small spa with a very small gym, excellent for couples looking for a romantic weekend.
Bed too soft but i personally prefer firm mattresses.
We had an early start when departing so had flasks of coffee and some sandwiches waiting for us at 5:30 am.
