I had great expectations of this hotel and was let down time and time again. Firstly, despite having booked a more expensive room the one we were given was at the front of the house and overlooked a farm, rather than the vineyards as I had hoped. We were directly over the restaurant and it was very noisy in our room. I regret not having complained about the room, as I realised upon checkout that we were charged the price for a normal room and that they had messed up our booking.
Secondly, the housekeeping always came by at 9am, which was very inconvenient! We were having a romantic holiday, and for them to just barge in at 9am was not fun! The first time that they did it we were in the room, and when they opened the door and saw us they closed it again, went away briefly, and then came back five minutes later and did the same thing again! On one other instance we came back to our room from breakfast to find that they were already in there, and we had to go out and wait for them to finish. Somehow, however, despite desperately wanting to spend time in our room our toiletries were not replenished the whole time that we were there.
Upon trying to check out at 10am we found that there were no staff to be found, and we had to sit next to the counter for fifteen minutes and wait for someone to show up.
All in all, despite the fact that this is generally a pleasant hotel we felt that they could have done quite a lot better, and we were left feeling disappointed.
