On arival there was a mix up appaerntly a computer mix up ????? Prebooked two rooms for a group of 4 adults, the rooms were is different buildings ours was above a takeaway which you could smell from the room very noisy with traffic and the wierdest arangement for a twin room I've ever seen (beds toe to toe lenghthwise down the room) we then had to go a 5 min walk to the main hotel for breakfast which to be fair was OK. Baden Baden is a great wee place & if you do visit then do your self a favour and stay somewhere nice. wasn't awful but by the same token wasn't nice.

For my kind of travelling this hotel is perfect. We were just sleeping over in Baden-Baden, coming from a delayed flight landed in Frankfurt. So we needed to stay in the city center to walk around the next morning and hit the B-500 road into the Black Forest. Breakfast included is great, saves us time and was delicious. We felt like entering the country side of Baden Württemberg, that's what Baden-Baden is all about.
We had a special treat that was really significant on our stay. Traffic on the Autobahn 5 was crazy and we got late for check-in. We missed dinner at the lovely restaurant, but it was possible to call someone back to open it up and check us in. I'm not saying it's ok to get there late, you'll will find the place closed after 10pm. But I'd like to thank the staff for making an exception (because we had kids) and coming back for us. Sorry to bother your Friday night.
And to everyone I say, it's worth it more than just one morning in Baden-Baden. A lot to see in town and enjoy staying at Lohr.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main building where breakfast is served are the best. You have balconies with great vie...

I cannot understand a few of these reviews! My husband and I together with our 2 year old son loved our stay at Hotel Lohr. The receptionist upon check in was friendly...yes she did not help us much but cannot say anything else that is bad. The breakfast super exceeded our expectations. Fresh fruits, meat cuts, cheeses, cereals, rolls, sausages, eggs, yogurts... we were so impressed!!!!!! The room was clean.. bathroom was spotless! I would visit here again and again!

Nice room and breakfast OK ! -BUT, the most expensive hotel for pets in Europe ?? No info about the prices on the internet page. The parking was full, so we were offered a P-house which was also expensive. Unfriendly staff.

Dear guest,
our hotel has lowest rates in Baden-Baden between 3-star hotels. Your statement "most expensive hotel for pets in Europe" is not true.
On our website you will find both current prices as well as prices for various dates. By the way, for every room type. The prices are updated every 15 minutes by ChannelManager.
Parkingsituation in Baden-BAaen is very difficult, but the hotel is thus innocent. If the guest not reserved parking in advance, he must use public parking facilities.
If staff can not have good hour to answer your questions, because there are other guests, it does not mean that staff is unfriendly.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Situated in the center of Baden-Baden is a historical building with an old hospitality tradition. The Hotel Loehr is located in the historic centre of Baden-Baden, at Augustaplatz opposite to the Kongresshaus (Congress Centre). The Kurhaus with its legendary Casino, the 350 year old Lichtentaler Allee and the pedestrian shopping area are only a few steps away from the hotel. The thermal baths area - the modern spa complex "Caracalla Thermen", and the Roman-Irish bath "Friedrichsbad" are also just a few minutes' walk away. Our hotel consists of four buildings, which are about 50 meters apart from each other. A significant modernisation and renovation of the buildings took place in 2015. Today all rooms are equipped with a shower, a toilet, a minibar, a safe, a hairdryer and satellite TV (with German, French, English, Russian, Italian and other international channels). Wi-Fi in the rooms and in the Cafe is free for our guests. The reception and the breakfast room are provided in the main building. Also a part of the hotel complex is a Bistro-Cafe, which is often frequented by locals. The Bistro-Cafe -Restaurant has a beautiful gallery with view over the Lichtentaler Alee, Augusta place and the Congress Centre. The Gallery is ideal for meetings, weddings, birthdays, companies - and Christmas parties. In the context, you are expected a more-dimensional, international cuisine with Italian and Russian influence. ... more   less
