Stayed for four nights with family (two parents/two grown children) in a two bed/two bath apartment. It is in a great location, walkable to restaurants, grocery stores, and shops in town, and a short drive to any of the lifts. As we were there in summer, it is a great base for hiking, though not all of the staff were knowledgeable enough to give recommendations.

The main issue was that upon arrival, our apartment (105) had only 1.5 bathrooms (two showers but only one toilet!). After speaking with the desk, they moved us to room 512, which not only had two full baths, but was more recently renovated as well. It was a beautiful apartment and we were happy to stay there, but it was a little upsetting that we would have paid the same price for a less nice apartment had we not said anything.

Staff was friendly and overall had a very nice stay. Game room in the basement with ping pong table is a nice bonus.

Room Tip: For a "3-room apartment", 512 was much nicer than 105.

Les Balcons was just okay for our stay in Chamonix. On the plus side, the views from the balcony, the friendly and helpful staff, the size of our apartment, and the proximity to the town and all it has to offer. What impressed me less was the condition of the apartment itself, and of the pool and spa areas. True, our stay at the end of May was in between seasons, but the pool was very cold (even for a Canadian!) and the steam room and sauna were not working at all. Our two bedroom apartment had seen better days too. The WC, a separate room (a closet) with no window and no working fan, had a foul smell throughout our stay, and just looked dirty. One of the two separate showers did not drain properly. Aside from the facilities, the apartment was quite roomy for our group of four, and we got great sleeps after our days of activity in the mountains. We dined in one night, and made out fine with the kitchen facilities. Not a bad place to stay, but not one I would rave about.

My wife and I stayed for two nights so we could travel up the Aiguille de Midi, outstanding trip by the way, and found the Balcons Du Savoy lived up to its positive reviews.

In some respects it was more like renting a flat than staying in a hotel but that didn't bother us, the room was clean, we had a small kitchenette which was well equipped and allowed us to prepare a meal to enjoy on the balcony. The view from our balcony made it worthwhile to sit there for a few hours morning and evening to just enjoy it.

No hesitation in recommending it if a well-equipped apartment with a beautiful view is what you are looking for.

Room Tip: I think all rooms look out to Mont Blanc but worth checking as the view is beautiful

Our Studio balcony on the fifth floor had marvellous views of the French Alps but we had to go downstairs and out on the Champs Savoy to see Mont Blanc. Our Studio was in fact a large apartment with separate facilities; kitchen, bathroom, toilet and dining/living/bedroom.

We were disappointed to have a poor wifi internet connection in our room (501B). Also the Sofa bed was two single beds unable to be used as a double due to different heights.

We stayed three nights and enjoyed it immensley. Reception staff were multi-lingual and very helpful whenever we made a request or inquiry. Underground secure parking was very much appreciated in a town where parking is at a premium. Our accommodation was just a ten-minute walk across a green field (Champs Savoy) to the centre of the lovely village.

Our family stay at this apartment has been excellent. The accommodation is of a high standard and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped and as a family of five, we have coped easily in our one bedroom flat. The reception staff are helpful and friendly. The apartments are well situated and the views are spectacular.
There's a small games room for younger children and the swimming pool was a nice addition to the apartments. Stayed in Chanonix before, and found the location to be very good, providing spectacular views of Mont Blanc. Loved the stay and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Chamonix.

Room Tip: We chose a one bedroom apartment for a family of five (four adults and one nine year old child), and...
