We were told by a French woman that we know, that this is one of THE places to eat authentic bouillabaisse in Marseille. And we wanted to experience the real thing. First, the views from inside the restaurant are amazing--it's on the coast of the Mediterranean. The meal is huge so skip the appetizers. Your culinary journey starts with the amuse bouche, followed by a small gazpacho, then your bouillabaisse starts with a rich, thick fish stock served with bread and aioli. Next they present the whole fish that were cooked in your stock, they are then taken away to be separated from the bones. The fish is returned to your table, along with more stock. At the end of the meal, they bring around the cheese cart. Oh how I wish elaborate cheese carts were more common in the U.S. Theirs had about 15 cheeses and they all looked amazing. We didn't order desert, but they bring you 3 small bites of macaroons. Yes, the bill is going to be expensive, but that's just how it is. You'll eventually forget the price tag, but you won't forget the food or the views. Don't miss this experience.
