“Great location, good views”

As a party of four we stayed at the apartment in early September. On arrival the apartment presented as neat and tidy, was of adequate size and had excellent panoramic views of the bay and surrounding area from the balcony.
A disappointing aspect on arrival was that there was no welcome pack / bottle of water for us. As regular travellers this is something we have come to expect. We would have welcomed a toaster and, if possible, a table and chairs so we had somewhere to eat, if we wished to. An information folder with details of places to visit and transport timetables for the area would have been a bonus.
A small point for consideration would be to request sheets and bedspread during the summer in place of a duvet as very warm for sleeping in and could save using the air conditioning all night.
As visitors to the area previously we would highly recommend trips to Nice, Monaco, Cannes and St Paul’s de Vence. You can take a great train journey into the mountains (Tende) which shows you a different perspective / experience of France.
The location of the apartment is also ideal and central for travelling around without a car. The lovely local marina, beach and restaurants are only a short stroll away, although the area is quite steep and surrounded by hills and therefore not totally suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties.
Overall, we had a great holiday in Ville France, the locals were very helpful and friendly, location was ideal and we’d recommend at holiday / break there.

“Clean, bright, comfortable...plus a charming view.”
Reviewed 7 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have had several holidays in Villefranche, but as we had less lead-time this trip, our previous rentals were not available. We chose this apartment because we knew it was in a good location at the top of the old town (close to the 100 bus route) and very close to our favorite bakery for those morning necessities. The location also provided easy access downhill to the beach as well as all the old town restaurants. With all the good eating in Villefranche, that uphill walk at the end of the evening was a good thing!

The apartment looks exactly like the pictures, and while not overly equipped, it has enough of the basics for simple meal preparation. A coffee drip filter was provided, (although a coffee maker or cafetière would be a welcome addition.) The best feature is the covered terrace, which comfortably accommodates four people around the table and provides a lovely view of the bay and Cap Ferrat. The large sliding doors across the living room and one bedroom keep the apartment very bright.

The second bedroom has a large window with an exterior fixed blind that doesn’t open, as it is right on the street. It means that the room is good and dark for sleeping, but airflow comes either from the room air conditioner or from leaving the door open so that air comes through the living room sliding door.

There is a linen fee according to the number of occupants, which includes a generous number of bath towels plus beach towels. For part of the time, we were a group of 2 couples, so the 2 bathrooms were much appreciated. The washing machine in the kitchen even has a 15-minute speed cycle setting - a dream for those who like to travel light.

This was the first time we rented an apartment without reviews, so after a few e-mails back and forth, we placed a call to Damien and felt confident enough to book. Donna, the property manager, met us at the apartment on arrival and came by later to bring some extra supplies. She was just lovely to deal with, and she was easy to contact when we had any questions or requests.
