The staff was very friendly and helpful and made the place feel more like a Bed & Breakfast than a hotel. Our room was downstairs with no elevator, but when we opened the door, it was bigger than we had expected, and we had our own patio overlooking the water, which made for some lovely breakfasts before starting our day. We had opted to stay outside and travel to Monaco each day, instead of stay in Monaco, and we were glad we did. The bus picked up just outside the hotel, and it was a short ride. Each evening, we came back to this lovely place, enjoyed our patio with a cup of tea, before retiring for the night. It was a gem!

Room tip: The room was had was downstairs at the very bottom, which was nice, because we were not close to the road, so it was quieter.

If you want to stay outside Monaco but still be close, this hotel is well situated. It’s a short bus ride on bus #100, which stops directly outside the hotel. You can take the train, but you’ll have to manage a 1/2 mike uphill walk and hundreds of steps. Take the bus instead.

The staff was charming and helped us find the bus stop going back into town (across the street and past the roundabout)

The view from our private terrace was peaceful and splendid. The views from the hotel restaurant couldn’t be any more spectacular.

My husband and I were driving back to Ventimiglia and took a wrong turn. We stumbled upon this hotel/restaurant to stop for a drink and Patricia invited us in to sit and have a glass of wine in a charming and quaint hotel dining area with overlook of the view of Roquebrune. The setting was magnificent and the hosting made us feel like we were at home with family. A magnificent happenstance! We will be back.

If you're visiting Monaco but don't want to stay in the Principality, Le Roquebrune offers a nice, homely experience with friendly, personal service. It's a small hotel, which only offers a few rooms, but these appear to be very good value compared to what's on offer elsewhere (especially compared with the more up-market and expensive hotels on offer). I wouldn't say it's luxuriously appointed (I don't think the hotel pretends to be), but the rooms are serviceable, mine had a decent shower, and there was wi-fi. The bed was comfy enough. And you can't beat the view from your balcony on a sunny June morning. A good touch was the food, which while limited in the sense of not having a big menu from which to choose, was well cooked and presented. Together with a glass of the local rose, it made a good end to a day spent travelling to the Med. The following morning, a breakfast of fresh fruit and pastries made for a good start to a day's work. If business calls me back to the area, I'll definitely re-book. It would make a nice centre for a weekend in the area too, with a a good bus service into Monaco running at regular intervals (the stop is no more than a two-minute walk from the hotel). One small piece of advice - not related to the hotel itself - if you take a cab from Nice airport make sure your driver knows your destination is Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Mine took me to Roquebrune-sur-Argens, which made for a very long journey as well as much cussing under the breath! Oh, and by the way, I rated the room average. I'd say it was better than average, but not quite very good! I erred on the low side, but really, it's a smashing place!

Room tip: Get a room with a balcony for a terrific view of the bay

This small "Hotel de Charme" is run delightfully by two sisters, mature ladies who also do lovely flower settings on their tables.
Choose an entree and/ or a main course and aperatif tastes arrive first, a value -added delight.
The food was fresh, cooked just right and delicious to eat.
We asked for Ravioli with veal for the next evening's dinner and it was done especially for us!
