“Great Location ... But Just An Okay Room”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

This Nice hotel is in a superb location, i.e., a five-minute walk from the beach. The staff are great; the courtyard is quiet; and, the Internet is free.

However, the room in which I stayed (12b) was pretty small--even when compared to my hotel in Paris, which was less expensive and located in the 6th Arrondisement. The bathroom was definitely inadequate: the shower had virtually no water pressure; the curtain rod kept falling down (I even offered to fix it for them if they would purchase a spring); and, the floor got soaked constantly.

Overall, it's a great hotel but I think they're charging a bit too much for what they're offering.

The staff at this hotel were so helpful and friendly. Our only disappointment was our room was on the ground floor, which was close to a busy pavement. However, we managed to move to the first floor where we had really nice little room. The hotel is only a few mins walk from the beach, with plenty of shops - bakery, supermarket, bars etc. nearby.

It also has a really nice little garden.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on 1st or 2nd floor.

We stayed in the 'villa revolting' June 6, 2012 for 2 nights. We had already spent 4 weeks travelling and had no complaints about any accommodation until our arrival here.We had booked this hotel 12 months in advance. We had a room beneath ground level and were only just able to fit both our suitcases. The room had material over the ceiling and walls, the window was tiny and had bars , if there was a fire this room would be an absolute death trap.Because the room was so claustophobic we left the window open over night , a cat came through the window. Shower water flooded the bathroom, toilet seat broken. When we complained we were told we had paid for a standard room, however all our accomodation was 'standard' and we were happy with all our other hotels. I would advise anyone not to stay at this hotel, they really should not be able to let out the rooms below the ground.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
We feel very sorry that you were upset about the room category " lower ground floor". Yes indeed the window is much smaller than in the Tradition and Superior Categories This is the main reason of the difference of the room rate. We are sorry to learn that the cat of the neighbors came through your window, but this is really something difficult to manage.
We have to point out that cleanness is one of our first priorities and we feel very sorry, that you didn't come to see us at the reception desk.

We found that the hotel was well situated in Nice just back off the waterfront , Walking distance to the ctr of town (new) , quite close to transport connections from the Airport ( Bus no 98) on waterfront . Railway stn in op direction still walking distance , maybe not with lg cases about 1 to 1.5 kms but direct ,
Pleasant surroundings and great staff , Local Cafe`s quite close 2 streets to the sea and rnd cnr ,very friendly.
Hotel does have breakfast but we did not eat there .
Rooms Quite small but comfortable but coming from Australia we have found this normal for parts of Europe
There were 2 couples and we both agreed it was a fine place to stay

Room Tip: We had renovated superior doubles with small balcony facing the ocean and the garden only problem t...

Owner was very personable. Excellent hotel, location and price for a 65 year old school teacher with wife. Be careful in the garden. There is poison oak covering the shading structure.

Room Tip: Will return.
