This is a great restaurant for very generous pasta dishes. This place is very busy and is frequented mostly by locals as it's well off the tourist track. If you are staying in the area it is well worth a visit.

A garden restaurant slightly slightly hidden behind a bar near the tram stop - it came recommended by the owner of the B&B we were staying at nearby; good food well cooked and good service

This place is very meat-and-potatoes (or pasta). It's filling and delicious, but leaves you craving something green. When I got gnocci in roquefort sauce, I got exactly that with one half of a cherry tomato. Not another vegetable in sight. And the servings are so huge you don't want to order an additional salad. It was a little much for me.

A local special is farcis. It's easy to over order, because the quantities are big. We had to leave a lot of food on the table and we had no room for dessert. Rose is popular around here, so get it. The service was down to earth. They didn't open until 19:30 or 7:30 pm., so we had to wait around for about 10 minutes to get seated. Nice garden area to sit in, but we choose to sit inside. It was very easy to get to on the tram.

L´Union is a neghbourhood restaurat in Nice, where you see few turists and with rather typical food of excellent quality for a very reasonable price.
Maybe I should point out, that the food in Nice is not 100% "provencale" food, rather between "provencale" and ligurian. L´Union is nearer to "provencale" then most typical restaurants in Nice. The food is excellent; i have eaten there at leats once during all of my anual visits to Nice and I finally setled on "Daube", a beef stew somewhat different from the usual as the best choice. I must though mention that I ate other dishes on some previous occasions, which were also very good!
The place is also quite conveniently located right next to a streetcar station coming up from downtown and very near to the main campus of the University.
Overall an excellent choise!
