Lots of not great reviews on here not surprisingly all linked directly to the price and people’s confusion between value and cost. The rooms are basic but ours had a balcony with an amazing view! The breakfast was great. The lady on the front desk was so so busy all the time we stayed ( 3 nights ) but she always had a smile and was willing to help but she was by herself with a full hotel so a little patience please !!! The air con was an absolute god send! And each room has an independent full unit so you know it’s gonna work.
Bottom line £50 a night, 32 degrees outside in Menton, on the sea! Amazing value But of course it’s basic! It’s £50 a night. Want more; pay more. Simples ;)

For a budget hotel it does the job! Clean room. Great location opposite a marina and very close to Italian border. Nice stroll into Menton old town. Supermarket just down the road which is handy for supplies. Good pizza place right next door.
Special mention for the young man on reception who was so helpful and spoke v g English.
Try to get a sea view room.

Room Tip: Request Sea view

A good value for money hotel with great views & secure underground car parking.
The rooms are comfortable & clean. The breakfast is the usual continental but perfectly OK
The car park is very tight if you car is on the large side.

Room Tip: The rooms on the front are great for sea & town views

Stayed once again at the Ibis Budget at Menton. What other hotel gives you a promenade location at great prices.
Very good service, excellent breakfast and a comfortable room - all at a good price. You can't beat it!

Location location location they say, one side is the mountains, the marina with posh yachts the other, with a balcony, air-con which kept the room icy as a contrast to the 10 year heatwave of 33-34 degrees each day, 23-24 by night. We had extra pillows for our room-305-which was smaller then some comparable hotels, but we only went there to sleep,There is so much to do here. We walked to Italy one evening and bought olive oil, other days went to Monaco, Cannes on the train which is a 2 minute walk to Garavan station, or just walked into town via the beach bars. The local beach was a cool sanctuary each evening as we joined the locals to swim and cool off. There are lockers for valuables, which use a 50cent coin. Simple yet filling hotel breakfasts with a view of a real lemon tree, well you are in Menton, famous for them! The friendly staff made it a great time. The car park is a real challenge to navigate so enjoy the manouveures around the pillars, just do not expect to bring your Hummer down there!.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors are quieter
