“Great location forJuan, comfy and quiet too.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2012

We have just come back from a weeks stay at the Grand Pavois and enjoyed its comfy and quiet rooms. It does indeed have a stunning reception and bar/breakfast area all staff were particularly helpful allowing baggage storage a slightly early room check in as they had a room ready.
Highly recommended for seeing the area without being ripped of!

We stayed for four nights in two rooms. The hotel has recently had a makeover by the look of it and is very smart looking. My son who is an art consultant was impressed with the decor and design. The reception area boasts a grand piano. The rooms were quite spacious with reasonable size balconies. There was just about a view of the bay but mainly of the hotel which was being renovated opposite though this should appeal to builders and structural engineers. The walls were covered with soft wallpaper though my son said this was to insulate the rooms rather than double as a padded cell. The hotel offers only breakfast thought there is a large dining room. Unfortunately I cannot comment on this as we enjoyed breakfast (on the balcony) which we bought from a nearby patisserie and a supermarket about 10 minutes walk away. This may appear mean but we were a party of 5 so at 14 euros each this would come to 5 x 14 x 4 = 280 euros and you can buy a lot for this even in French patisseries. Why is it that croissants, pain au chocolat, baguettes and 'sandwiches' (no connection with the English variety of the same name) taste so mouth-watering in France? It must be the glass of wine you are allowed to have even with breakfast. This applies to the other menbers of the party of course as I am practically a teetotaller. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The receptionist contacted our next hotel in Bordeaux (the Adagio Rodesse) and arranged access to the hotel as we were to arrive out of hours. We would certainly return to this hotel.

Just had one overnight while visiting in the area. The character and decor was delightful! very pleasant reception and entrance very grand. The restuarant was closed during our stay but would have liked to experience a meal in such lovely surroundings. The room was a little on the tight side but then it was a basic room. very clean and loved the typical period furnishings.
would recommend. Excellent value for the money.

We spent 2 nights at the hotel while on a road trip from Milan and Marseille in the beginning of June.

The location is good, very close to the beach, restaurants and bars.
The building is slightly dated, however it is maintained well and clean.
The service was good and friendly.

Although probably typical for hotels in this class, the breakfast was very poor. Extremely limited things to choose from and in very low quantities - most things disappear within 3-4 minutes.

Free parking is available outside around the hotel and it was a contribution factor for us to book the hotel.

Regardless of the mentioned downsides, I would recommend the hotel for people looking for hotels in this category for short stays.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, very close to the Juan Les Pines boardwalk. The rooms needs some freshening up. Great location near the city centre, beach, restaurants and shops. We have stayed here twice because of the location and because it is affordable.
