“Hotel Martinez - The perfect location in Cannes”

Hotel Martinez is on La Croisette, the main boardwalk in Cannes. It is across the street from the water and has an outstanding peer for laying out. You are pampered by the staff during your stay with every detail upscale. The pool is at the front of the hotel and part of all the action, so you are still in the mix of everything while swimming. The restaurants and stores are amazing and the casino is in easy walking distance. The activities such as using the peer are expensive; drinks are very expensive as well but no more than other upscale hotels in the area. Cannes is a nice town and we found walking the main shopping street as well as La Croisette to be fun. The room was modern, had nice products and a balcony. I would stay here again when in Cannes.

I had some positive recommendations for this hotel but left disappointed. The breakfast service was appalling. The fact you have to pay for a hotel's pool facilities might be traditional in Cannes but it seems ridiculous to me especially when the pool is so basic.

Staff on checkin were not friendly or welcoming. Other guests seemed to get a welcoming walk to their rooms with a description of the hotel services. We didn't and had no real idea what the hotel provided. We used the rooms at the hotel and had breakfast but nothing else!

After seeing signs we wondered up to the Spa, trying to book a massage, the receptionist was on the phone and stayed on the phone for 5 mins at least while we waited. We went for a look at the fitness centre in the end and then when we returned, she was still on the phone. So we left and got a massage elsewhere.

Breakfast was a real let down. Very poor quality of food, every day the hot food was not hot and was mostly room temperature. The food didn't taste or feel fresh. The orange juice ran out and was replaced by concentrated orange juice which was disgusting. The staff were busy and unfriendly, everything felt hectic and not relaxing. The setting was unimpressive. There was constantly water around the floors outside (even though the weather was dry) and inside was a squeeze. The egg chef was friendly but asked me to provide the toasted bread for my poached eggs and then I had to wait 5-10 mins standing there to receive them instead of any table service. Very disappointed, we had better breakfast in every other hotel than this and I wish we had eaten out instead.

The location is very good so you can just go out and walk around it.very clean and the staff very professional.for sure i will go back to this hotel.

The experience was not up to the reputation, the room was noisy at night from the neighbours, and the decoration old. We had dinner at the Palme d'Or, where on entering a sweet young man suggested that we go and wash our hands, I think he was practicing his english as the remark was so bizarre and definitely not welcoming. The service was unbelievably slow, we are used to this type of restaurant but this was far more than usual. The food was ok but not a what I would have expected. At the end I requested 2 bills one for the business part and the other for the days we had chosen to stay on at our own expense, this was not possible! The best was yet to come, when I left I received their questionnaire, which I filled in, I then received a reply stating that they were checking to see if we had ever been in the Palme d'Or, suggesting I had booked the wrong room. I will never stay there again the client service was bad and I was never able to receive the 2 invoices I had requested, sadly their client relations person was most unprofessional.

The hotel was perfect ,from the moment we arrived we were treated as special guests.the staff was very helpful&friendly, the room was very big&clean.this hotel made our stay in cannes so special.
