Avignon seems to have no lack of restaurants - however, ones where a delicious meal can be found seem somewhat rarer! L'Agape fills this gap - delicious food, lovely surrounds, and interesting dishes yet with classic French flavous and inspiration. We did the 46 euro menu and enjoyed the little extras of amuse bouche and pre-dessert. Wine list was - as you'd expect - very good and we enjoyed a lovely bottle of Tavel Rose. Service was a little stretched (only two people on for a full restaurant!) and at times we felt rushed, but once we communicated this to the staff - and expressed that we were wanting a long leisurely dinner - they relaxed somewhat. Not a cheap meal but you could spend the same elsewhere in Avignon and come away sadly disappointed, unlike at L'Agape!

Absolutely fantastic food and value. Located on a lively but cozy square, the lunch menu offers great tastes at affordable prices, it was the best one we had on our one week trip through France and the service was also good. Highly recommended!

We were a party of 5 who ordered the set menu. While the service was fine the food was not. My first course of some kind of pork resembling a pate was inedible (and referred to by my husband as Baby Groot food.) The mains were marginal with the exception of the fish, which was well prepared. Overpriced food and wine. Would not return.

Have to say we are on the side of the people who were not happy. The menu is designed to force you into the set menu. On the a la carte menu, the appetizers are the same price or almost the same price as the main dishes. If you want more than one course, it is foolish not to do the set menu even though these portions will be smaller than a la carte. There are only 2 appetizer choices and 2 main course choices. We ordered one of each dish that was offered and came away less than satisfied with all we ate, We actually left over most of one of the main dishes. The plate was removed without a question about why there was so much still on the plate.

There was no service. Once our order was placed, dishes were dropped off at the table and the server never returned to check if everything was ok. There was never a chance to order a second drink. To pay the bill, you had to go up to the bar and pay. That is when we found out that the beer was $10.

Our recommendation is go someplace else.

Restaurant with a large outside area - busy spot. On the bright side the food was very tasty and very well presented. All of the food courses were consistent with high quality and with a lot of attention to details.
Lady manager was very accommodating and friendly however the servers were cheeky, sloppy and bit lazy. They were throwing food quickly with minimum afford on the table and we had a feeling like we are bothering them. They were so bad that it become theatrical and funny for us. I think the owner is a chef and he is not realising what is happens outside but he should know that will affect his business in long term.
I have to mention about wine list which is very good. A lot of well priced - interesting wines!. I would come back for food and wine
