A small hotel on a tiny side street near the Tourist Info office. Lots of very French character, very clean, very comfortable, fab breakfasts (hot croissants!), lovely small courtyard. It's a world away from large chain hotels and all the better for it. And it's very well run by Patrice, who couldn't be more helpful. We will recommend this hotel to all our friends.

Hotel Le Colbert is a lovely small hotel with a colourful design and lots of beautiful artwork. The location is perfect, on a quiet side street within an easy walk from the bus and train stations, around the corner from Place des Corps Saints, an inviting square full of plane trees and cafes. There is a beautiful breakfast room as well as a terrace for warmer weather, although we didn't have breakfast there. The rooms have Wifi and A/C. Our room was comfortable, although our bathroom was pretty small, but had a good shower. The host is friendly and helpful and speaks good English. We would definitely stay here again if in Avignon.

The hotel is well located inside the walled city and close to the train station. My room was very comfortable and well equipped (with an AC), plus everything was clean and proper. Mr. Patrice was a very kind host, and even gifted me with the book I started reading from the hotel's small library. Highly recommended. As indicated in the website there isn't an elevator in this hotel.

Hotel Le Colbert is conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the Avignon Central rail station. It's located inside the walled city of Avignon and is about a 10th 15 minute walk from the Palace of the Popes and the Pont d'Avignon. It's very close to parks, museums, and good restaurants.

Our host, Patrice, was a very gracious host. He spoke excellent English and was tremendously helpful with our reservation as well as helping us navigate the French rail strike. He rearranged bookings to provide us with a room on a lower floor (there's no elevator) even though we had booked a room on the top floor.

Our stay was very enjoyable, and we hope to stay there again on a future visit to Avignon.

Le Colbert was a key part of our wonderful trip to Provence. It is but a short walk to the train station, so we could use Avignon as our base for the region. The Avignon sites are also an easy walk. It's just a stone's throw to a great eat street with some good variety. Also close by is a laundromat (laveria). We had a car for just a couple of days, and there's an underground parking lot close by as well. And the hotel: nice, clean room, big enough to stretch in; very quiet; great breakfast; and Patrice is a wonderful host. Also notable is the spiral staircase -- no elevator.
