We did a day trip to Avignon for our friends birthday and wanted somewhere special for lunch. I spotted the courtyard down in alley and was drawn by the bohemian yet elegant decor in the small courtyard. It seemed a perfect oasis on a very hot day. After a check on trip advisor I was more than impressed by the reviews and the fact that it was family run. Luckily they dad a table for six available on the shaded terrace overlooking the courtyard but were given the option to sit inside the beautifully decorated inside with air con if the heat got too much at any stage. The greeting from Pierre was wonderful and on ordering a bottle of champagne to start he brought out flutes and filled them with ice water to chill them before pouring. It was just the first sign of the attention to detail and quality that made the lunch so memorable. We had the 3 course menu at 34 euros but the quality and presentation of the dishes would have been worth double the price. Our friends regularly dine at five star restaurants yet were rapturous about the food and my dad said steak was best ever tasted. After reading such good things about the meringues, two of us ordered citron tart with Italian meringue top but we were given extra meringues for two table so nobody missed out even if had picked other dessert options and no one was disappointed. Overall all those amazing reviews are well earned and can't recommend enough, especially for special occasion! Merci Pierre et famille!

As others have written, this is a wonderful family-run restaurant. The atmosphere is charming. Both the patio and the interior are calm and lovely, The food is excellent. If you are a foie gras lover, theirs is large enough to share--and it comes with a homemade onion jam that you simply want to eat with a spoon. We all had salads, which were fresh and delicious. The owners could not have been more friendly and we loved the music! Highly recommended.

We arrived there sort of by accident, looking of an oasis away from the heat. The location is kind of difficult to find, but one one arrives there, the friendly staff and the Hollywood/bohemian inspired decor makes everyone feel comfortable. They have a great 3 course menu with plenty of choices. The food is very good, well prepared and nicely presented. The price is reasonable. This appears to be a family run restaurant. All three members of the family we interacted with were very sweet and helpful. Great little gem in Avignon.

Avignon is a popular tourist town and finding a restaurant that wasn't overcrowded with tourists can often be a challenge.

We always search for restaurants that are tucked away down alleys, often out of the sight of the average tourist gaze. La Cour du Louvre is one such restaurant.

The atmosphere is wonderful, you feel as if you are dining in your own private courtyard - it actually is the end of a well lit alley (do not be put off by the alley description). The food was very good, so too the service and the wines on offer were a good representation of the region.

We enjoyed our lunch and felt as if we had received very good value for money in a less touristy restaurant. We were there on a Saturday and I expect during the week the business people of Avignon manage to seek out this restaurant.

While walking through towns, I love to look down alleys or little nooks off the trail. Not only are there architectural surprises but I have found that restaurants down these detours are often outstanding...in some ways they have to be to survive. That is the La Cour du Lourve. Family run, quaint beyond imagination, situated at a dead-end it was an enchanting choice. We loved the eclectic decor, the warm service, the menu choices, and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend while in Avignon.
