Our extended family of 13 had a wonderful stay at La Loubiere for a week in June. We rented the entire chateau (all three houses), and had more than enough room by far. It is a beautiful place, with a great mix of charming old architecture/construction and functional modern amenities (swimming pool, clean modern bathrooms, excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water, ethernet and wifi access, washer/dryers, dishwashers, etc.). In the main house there is an enormous kitchen/dining/living area, perfect for large groups cooking communal meals (each of the houses has its own full kitchen). There is a TV with a raft of English language channels (but you're in Provence, don't sit in front of the TV!). You can go fishing in an irrigation canal on the property, and there is a river for swimming or fishing a short car or bicycle ride (or energetic walk) up the road. My daughter enjoyed feeding carrots to the horses in the pasture next door.
The property is in a good location, outside the town of Pertuis, and not far from Aix-en-Provence (close enough to Aix that you can go there for just lunch and a bit of shopping if you want). It is convenient for longer side trips to places like Marseilles, Cassis, Roussillon, Arles, Avignon, Pont du Gard (not to be missed).
Alec and Deb are excellent hosts and fun upbeat people. They provide just the right balance of privacy and accessibility. They were always available for advice about the area, things to do, and just to chat (for humorous insight into French politics, ask Alec about the boar in the canal). I assume they would have been equally responsive to any problems with the property, but we didn't have any issues of that nature.
Overall we had a fabulous week (and were blessed with great weather). I highly recommend La Loubiere, and would definitely stay there again (I think one of the smaller houses by itself would be perfect for a second honeymoon...)

A warm welcome, great facilities and a great location to explore the local area. The pool was so nice to enjoy at the end of the day or even spend all day by it. Pop to the local town for food and wine. The wine at Val Joanis was amazing and the courgrettes they gave us were great too. A great time was had by all.
Will definately go back if the oppertunity comes along.

we stayed in les plantanes and found everything so comfortable about this property. the hosts are geniel, kind, and helpful! the cottage is just right! quality everything, quaint but feels just like your own small home in provence! The location for exploring the luberon and beyond is perfect - we went as far as cassis on the coast and gordes in the upper louberon. we also enjoyed just being on the property using the tennis and pool or our own patio, all very private and peacefull! some limited internet .... the livebox signal does not quite reach the interiors so it needs to be acessed from the main courtyard - in fact the system for getting anything you may need is a rope pull to the window above the main courtyard where deb or alec pop out the window !
Just got back from a week in the south of France. We had the exceptional fortune of booking our stay at Chateau de la Loubiere. Alec and Deb were fantastic hosts. The grounds were beautiful and the accomidations exceptional. With it's close proximity to so many wonderful places to visit we found this the ideal location for visiting Provence. We really enjoyed relaxing on the porch each evening with a great bottle of local wine, soaking up the sun and enjoying the view. We are definitely going back. Don't miss the wine tasting at the Chateau Grand Callamand vineyard which is on the road to Pertuis from la Loubiere.
