Ludovic’s warm welcome to Hanzo, set the tone for a superb dining experience. Hanzo, with its mix of traditional and inventive Japanese cuisine, is a small family owned restaurant that is reminiscent of places I ate at while traveling through Japan. Attention to detail pervades the atmosphere, decor, service, menu, ingredients, and delectable food. Recipes handed down by her grandmother inspire Ha, Hanzo’s executive chef, to blend authentic dishes with contemporary accents. The result is the best Japanese meals I have eaten outside Japan. The menu includes the freshest ingredients while also treating you to my favorites, Suku Hotaongai, Okonomiyaki Sake, Sushi Plateau Kango and the many varieties of gyoza and soups.
Living in Aix, I have the opportunity to return often to Hanzo. I am consistently treated to excellence in cuisine and a warm welcome every time I walk through the door!
