“Great gite in loire”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Lovely clean gite with super comfy beds (we had 3 weeks in France and the beds here were so comfy- we slept really well), british tv and Wi-fi ( bonus to for the kids). Lovely clean shower room and the kitchen was well equipped. On arrival there was a wonderful welcome pack with bread, fruit, juice, milk & a local Wine. Gite was easy to find, just outside the local town which had supermarket, etc. Gill and Tony were great hosts. Gill showed the children the horses and the chickens and my daughter adored the dog Roly and cat Felix. Nothing was too much trouble for Gill - my daughter became ill and needed a doctor. Gill rang and got us an appointment and explained how it worked over there to us. Saumur was about 20 min drive away and was a lovely town. We explored the area and chateau's.

“Everything you need for a great holiday”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Gillian made us very welcome when we arrived with a free bottle of local wine, the accommodation was great very large bedrooms and comfortable beds . It had a great shower and a spaces bathroom .It was our first trip with our seven month old English Cocker Spaniel "COCO" and with the entrance gate closed he was free to wander around making our stay even more enjoyable .He soon made friends with Gillian's two dogs Boots and Rolo who where very friendly towards him .If you are looking for an ideal place to go on holiday with a dog then you could not beat this with great country walks and being able to relax in the spacious garden which included a BBQ .
The house is situated about twenty kilometres from Saumur and we found travelling around and is accessible to all Châteaux's and more importantly Vine yards .
Without question we all had a great stay and would recommend straying at this holiday let WITH OR WITHOUT a dog .
Thanks Gillian for all your help and making our stay one to remember we will be going there again

“Out in the country”
Reviewed 31 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Gill and Tony made us very welcome - as did the pets. The welcome pack was much appreciated. The kitchen is well equipped though there is no washing machine. The house is 2 km from the nearest village and 3 km from the supermarket. The downstairs room doubles as kitchen, dining room and lounge which might appear a bit crowded for more than two. However the two bedrooms upstairs are large and both have settees so there is room to 'spread' or retreat if necessary. There is TV and DVD player and there is satellite reception for a wide selection of TV and radio programmes. The only negative point really is the location of the combined shower room and WC on the ground floor through the kitchen - a long trek for night time wanderers!

We enjoyed walking in the countryside and there was ample inspiration for sketching and painting. We gathered a bagful of chestnuts which tasted really good.

The large selection of information leaflets proved helpful.

“Lovely Gite in a Tranquil Location”
Reviewed 18 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Arriving in the late afternoon it was such a nice gesture to find a welcome pack of essentials from Gillian and Tony including a bottle of wine, bread, butter and some home made marmalade. The Gite was really well equipped with everything we could possibly have required. It was clean & superbly furnished.

Gillian & Tony were fabulous hosts, nothing we asked of them was too much trouble and they made us feel so at home, it’s also a wonderful place for pets as Hannah our dog made great friends in Boots & Rolley.

We would recommend visiting the Chateau at Breze, and the wine tasting at Grenelle in Saumur which is a lovely town with great restaurants and only a 20 minute drive from the gite.

We had a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to go back.
