My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in August and loved our stay here! It's a well kept campsite in a fantastic location on a plateau overlooking the Loire river which is beautiful. The pitches were huge and nice and flat to pitch up our tent. Toilet blocks and shower blocks were cleaned daily and the staff were very pleasant. There was a really nice feel to the campsite with a mix of nationalities which we liked. It's not a commercial site and very French which we really liked. The pool was nice and opened until late with a shop available which was reasonable price. Also a bar on site but very expensive so we stocked up on beer and wine from the supermarket! WIFI is free as well as all the equipment for games such as mini golf. There's lots of things to do around the area and visiting lots of places, hiring bikes (which you can do from the campsite) and wine tasting in the caves, my boyfriend particularly liked the largest tank museum in France which was in Saumur. There's also a massive E.Leclerc supermarket 5 miles away which was handy. Also a good campsite for families as it had a play area for children. We would definitely return to this site and would highly recommend it! :)

If this park was once a 5 star then sadly it's lost much of its former glory.

Pitches are a generous size but in average to poor condition. The grounds are in need of significant maintenance.

Showers and toilets are old but well maintained and I noticed cleaning operations 2-3 times each day.

Only 6-7 pitches have the view depicted in advertising material but there is a very nice seating area below those pitches to enjoy the panorama.

Significantly more expensive than better presented and better located parks.

Heaps of activities for kids but with that comes the noise.

If you are planning a trip to France for a touring caravan holiday then you would be hard pushed to find a better site than De Chantepie. Ideally locatred about 10 mins drive form Saumur this site is clean, well kept and run by friendly staff. The boss, David is very approachable and knowledgeable. there is a little market on a Monday selling allsorts including local home produced wines and other goods. One downside of the site is that the internet connection albeit it being free is very hit and miss and could do with some boosters fitting. Friendly for kids and adults although there is very little for teenagers to do and it is a fair way from the local nightlife. Great place to visit and recommended to all.

We booked this site to fill a gap during a 4 week stay in France. It turned out to be the best site we stayed on!
We have children of 9 & 7, this site suited us really well, we don't need evening entertainment and really appreciated the peace and quiet of this site.
The pool area is great, not lots of loungers, but room to take your own chairs if need be.
Really well situated for Saumur. Big E.Leclerc about 3 miles away.
We will be back!

Busy campsite with lots to do for families with children. Beautiful views from the site which is also well situated for exploring the Loire valley. Cafe handy but food ok and a bit expensive for the type of food served.
