“Nice cottage but intrusive road noise and terrible beds”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Nice sizable traditional Normsndy cottage.Well equipped with good showers. No amenities within walking distance. Road busy and noisy at times. Very poor beds. Selection of DVDs for small TV but no terrestrial, cable or satellite service. Limited mobile signal.

Sorry to hear that you were distributed by traffic noise during your stay at the cottage. The village of Fiquefleur has the equivalent to an 30mph speed limit through the village and during the week does have slightly more increased traffic at peak times e.g. breakfast and tea times.
The village of Fiquefleur is a very typical French village & is probably more a hamlet with just the church in the centre. The village does have lovely views over the valley and offers country walks up the hill to the back of the cottage with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
Thank you for bringing to our attention that you found the bed uncomfortable. The double bed is an antique bed and is part of the bed set of furniture in the large double bedroom. We have taken your comment on board and will be replacing the all the bed mattresses with new mattresses.
Your feedback regarding the TV, which is featured in the images and description of the cottage on Holiday Lettings that has French TV channels and a DVD player, it has not previously been a problem for guests staying at the cottage whom have appreciated their stay at the cottage as "having a getting away from it all stay". However, we do appreciate and value your feedback regarding this.
We do hope that you enjoyed your stay overall and that you will return to France, and Normandy in particular to continue to explore this beautiful region.

“Lovely Cottage, beautiful area”

We had a lovely time, the garden is beautiful and my two dogs loved it as it was safe and enclosed, the garden could do with some sun loungers as there was only one and there were four adults, the plastic chairs are not very comfortable and you can't really sunbathe on them.
The area is great for visiting Honfleur as it is only ten minutes away by car and is very beautiful, we had some lovely meals in there, but if you get the chance visit Café De Paris right on the front as the owner speaks very good English and is able to advise you on the menu.do not go to Christale as we ate there and the food was awful and the service terrible.
The only negative I have about the cottage is the busy road outside, that disturbed us very early each morning, but having said that it did not spoil our holiday, Aileen the owner is very helpful and helped us book a vets appointment for our dogs, however the information in the cottage is mostly in French and could do with updating, I would definitely go back

“A charming, beautiful cottage!!”
Reviewed 6 January 2013 for a stay in October 2012

This is a lovely cottage restored to include its historic charm with the modern home comforts!! We had a few meals outside on the patio, beside the large garden- we were able to take advantage of the French sunshine! Inside the cottage the kitchen had everything we needed for a self- catering holiday. Bedrooms were comfortable, but the bathrooms were amazing- the shower cubicles have jets, steam, lights & radio!!

The location was good as we visited the wonderful Honfleur often for dinner and drinks around the harbour. Love the French food (- always on the hunt for a good Creme Brûlée), lots of fresh seafood available in the harbour. We also went to Deauville, the D- Day landing beaches, Caen and Monet's Gardens.

Overall a great place to stay & location to explore the area from!
