We stayed on Sunday night after the Le Mans 24 Hour, first time in this hotel but will be back. Very good rooms and a first class restaurant very good food and very good service.
A good place to stay on your way home.

After an excellent experience last year we chose this hotel again as a stopover on the way back from Le Mans. The staff here are all terrific and the rooms, internet, and the garage parking for the cars were all fine. The waiter recognised us from last year and remembered some stuff about us which was nice. The food was once again superb. Highly recommended.

My wife and I spent one night here while passing through Normandy's cider region. The hotel is charming and the staff very helpful. Our room was fine, though nothing exceptional. It was clean, comfortable and quiet, but we were unable to connect to hotel's Wi-Fi in it.

The hotel's restaurant is exceptional! We had one of the best meals of our two week European trip here. The food is regional, fresh and delicious. I had an appetizer of fois gras, then duck breast, a cheese course, and dessert. All were excellent. My wife really enjoyed her meal as well. The service was as good as the food, which made for a terrific dining experience.

We also had brunch at the hotel. There was a very wide range of meats, cheeses, yogurt, coffee drinks, juices, breads and pastries to enjoy.

The hotel also offers off-street, covered parking, although there is an extra for that.

I would recommend the Grand Hotel de l'Esperance and it's restaurant to anyone staying in this area.

Grand Hotel de l'Esperance is a very nice old hotel with modernized bathrooms. There may not be AC but at least in mid-May it was sufficient to just open the windows for cooling. Our room 406 was good-sized and it had a very good wifi connection. We enjoyed our sit-down group dinner and breakfast buffet. The hotel is conveniently located to the Basilica, family home and convent of St. Therese.

My husband and I spent one night at the Grand Hotel de l'Esperance. The building is lovely, and there is a large, comfortable lounge where we enjoyed bottles of delicious local cider. The attendant on duty when we checked in was very helpful and provided good service.

We had a room on the first floor (#109), at the end of the hallway. Unfortunately the WiFi did not reach this area, which was somewhat inconvenient. Also, the bathroom door closed with great difficulty, and the only bath product in the room was soap (no shampoo, lotion, or tissues). This room did not appear to meet a three-star standard, but perhaps other rooms are better appointed. The bed was moderately comfortable.

We dined at the hotel's restaurant, and this was the highlight of our stay. The regional menus were fantastic, and each dish we tried was sumptuous. Service was very good, as well.

Breakfast was an additional 11 Euros. There were local meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, tarts, fruit, and yogurt. A self-serve espresso machine provided flavorful ristrettos, cappucinos, etc. This alone was worth the price of breakfast!

Grand Hotel de l'Esperance provides rooms with basic comfort with few amenities. However, for those who enjoy excellent food and drink this is a good and very convenient option.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room first and be sure it has WiFi access if this is important to you.
