“Absolutely fantastic place, peaceful, rural and pics don't do it justice”
Reviewed 9 May 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Came to Normandy for the War Walks and this was the perfect location, everything was within 30 minutes.
The house itself is fantastic and the pictures do not do it justice. Everything was perfect and I mean EVERYTHING.
Jerome the host was very friendly and right next door if we needed him but didn't intrude at all.
The place was absolutely spotless and so tastefully decorated and the log burner was perfect to come home too.
I would recommend this to everybody as it truly was amazing and have already passed the details on to numerous friends!

“A wonderful holiday”
Reviewed 5 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Back from a relaxing week's holiday with friends at Maison de Campagne. The house is beautiful - newly renovated, very modern and spotless - it was a shame we had to come home! Jerome and Veronique are incredibly friendly and helpful, and have clearly put a lot of care and attention into making this a great place to stay.

The house is in a rural area but close to Bayeux (about ten minutes drive), where there are several large supermarkets, lots of excellent restaurants and things to see. It's also handily located for day trips to other parts of the region, including the Normandy beaches and several lovely gardens.

We would definitely recommend the house and look forward to staying there again one day.

“Such a Beautiful and Peaceful Place!”
Reviewed 14 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maison de Campagne. Jerome and Veronique are such gracious and friendly hosts. After long days touring the D-Day beaches and battle sites, it was so special coming home to our little country home.

“Excellent house and excellent owners”
Reviewed 13 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We were three Norwegian colleagues going for a WWII holiday in Normandie in May 2015. To stay in a hotel isn't that social, so we wanted to rent a house where we could sit down and relax in the afternoon, and where we could make our own breakfast in the morning.
We found Maison de Campagne on Trip Advisor, and the pictures of the place looked very modern and nice. It was very easy to get in contact with the owners and they were very helpful about our questions. The day we got there they had given us a detailed and correct road description to find the place, and both of them were waiting for us and greeting us welcome when we arrived.
The house was recently recovered and it was obvious that the owners were into design, both the way the house was furnished and the way it was painted and taken care of.
The house contained everything you will ever need, washing machine for clothes, dish washer, vacuum cleaner, Television, free Wi Fi etc etc.
The house is located a couple of minutes outside Bayeux, by car, in a rural, quiet and picturesque area.
There was water and the local cider in the fridge waiting for us, and when we had our first breakfast, mr.Jerome knocked on the door and offered us the local bread from the bakery.
If you ever consider to rent a house in the Bayeux area, this is the place to stay. Just remember to treat the owners and the house with respect, they really do deserve it.
We really did enjoy our stay and we would all like to return on another occasion.

“The best place ever”

We stayed in this absolutely beautiful farmhouse (four adults and a toddler) for four nights at the end of March. We did not have the best of weather (it was the end of March in Northern Europe, so no surprise there), but we still had a truly fabulous vacation. The house itself is large, spacious, and with every convenience. It even has a clothes dryer, which we made use of since it was rainy and we were wet. The best part though is the beautiful landscape. There is a large yard looking out over fields into which you can wander- there are sheep and cows on neighboring farms that our daughter loved visiting. The owners of the property were very welcoming and helpful, and even left orange juice and some delicious Normany cider for our arrival. There is a fire place which was very cozy, and comfortable furniture downstairs. Our daughter brought her bike and we spent a number of happy hours riding up and down the lane, picking wildflowers, and playing ball in the backyard. The house is also very convenient to Bayeux- about 5-10 minutes by car to the center. Bayeux is charming and well worth a visit. We also visited the Normandy beaches- probably about 20-30 min by car depending on where you go. I highly recommend this to families with children- you have tons of outdoor space and when the kids get tired you can stay home and make dinner in the very nice kitchen. There is a huge grocery store in Bayeux where you can get anything you need- they also have great prepared food in case you don't want to cook. In summary, you can't go wrong with this property if you want a beautiful house and lovely hosts in a great location. Enjoy!
